    air filter

    For a 1979 Johnson 2st 70hp is it possible/preferable to have some form of air filter. Is it possible to even fit one, or do you rely on the foam and lining of the engine cover?

    Engine covers

    Has anybody had any problems with operating their 2st outboard with a cover in place? You know the sort with an air intake opening, usually waterproof canvas and a draw string or elasticized lower skirt. Thanks all.

    Regulator

    Would anyone know whether it is possible to fit a regulator to a 1979 Johnson 70hp 2st. Without a reg the voltage at the batterry climbs very high sometimes.

    Hi everyone. Is there a way to tell from looking at the motor or rectifier what is the Amperage output of the charging system please, to make sure I do not overload the system with lights and accessories. Cheers

    Fuel mix forgotten

    Ok I know, what a dork. But I have forgotten if I added the 2 stroke oil to a plastic tank of 25 litres of fuel. Is there a way to tell if the oil is in there. If I add another lot it will end up at 25:1 instead of 50:1. Engine is a 79 Johno 70hp. Many thanks.

    Boat name again

    Is it true that it is bad karma to rename a boat. Have just brought my first, a runabout originally called 'The Other Woman'. Feel a bit of a dork towing it around and would like to rename it after my 2 children, but have been told 'nooooooooo, not a good thing to do'. Any comments?
