    1976 75HP Evinrude, dies under load.

    Model 75643D Runs on muffs and in a bucket. Dies when put into either forward or reverse in the lake. Compression is 115-120 on all three cylinders. Spark jumps 7/16 gap. New spark plugs installed. (Gapped to .03, Just read should be .04, is that correct?) Seems to idle high but I don't have...

    Re: How do I know my model # and year? I think the ID plate has been painted over or removed. I took a picture of the only quarter sized plug I could find which is beneath the lifting loop.

    Would a 83 75HP Evinrude and a 84 40HP Johnson operate off the same controls? I am looking at trading my 40 in for the 75 and thought it would make things quicker if I didn't have to pull the controls off.

    What did my daughter catch?

    Went fishing today at the Shenango River Lake in PA my daughter caught this with a worm in about 20ft of water. Haven't the slightest clue what kind of fish this is. I would like to be able to tell her what she caught. Any help with the ID of it would be great.
