    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

I purged the oil, I followed all procedures. My biggest mistake was buying the engine from a company on eBay, this guy had a good score and sold hundreds of engines. BUT. 1st he sent counterrotation not standard, then he sent correct lower unit to replace, waited 6 weeks for that, he forgot me...

    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

Yes, as mentioned in my manifesto the cables are working correctly, the throttle follows the joystick up to maximum. I’m 99% certain that the throttle position sensor has failed.

    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

That’s why I’m asking questions, I don’t know how this 2 cycle motor works. I ordered manuals, I do not intend to start it until I know for certain. There is a boat repair shop 10 miles away. I’m going to call them tomorrow, Thanks.

    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

I know how 2 cycles work, I know the engine crankcase hasn’t a need for oil, I know not to mix oil in the gas tank. Was impressed with fact that the oil/gas is mixed automatically. I just was wondering where the oil goes. Thanks! Mistakes are expensive!

    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

Just bought, just got my first outboard. Put it on my first pontoon boat. So the Evinrude is the moon to me. 150 HP Etec. Never started it. Put new impeller pump, almost ready to go. I read the oil (Evinrude) oil, which I will use religiously is mixed automatically, sweet. Question 1. Where in...

Building 383 Stroker with aluminum heads, I want aluminum intake.

What’s a good part number for aluminum intake manifold? Is there really a marine intake. The heads require 12 bolts. I see several that look just like the cast iron marine manifold I currently have. Currently looking at Edelbrock 2040

    Building 383 Stroker

Almost done building a new 383 stroker. 4 Bolt main, scat crank and con rods. Aluminum heads. I found an aluminum intake that looks just like my old 305 ci Mercruiser currently installed cast iron. I want to sell old motor with all the iron I can save to increase the possibility of selling it...

Standard Rotation, car engines and who’s who in a boat

This is hopefully correct, please feel free to step in. Rotation is viewed from the back of the engine looking forward. Single engine boats are standard rotation, left hand, counterclockwise, just like a car. So the left or port engine (Twin Engine Boat) is standard rotation, left hand rotation...

Brand New Alpha1 Gen1 Sea Stories?

I was told that if you take your new StearnDriveEngineering outdrive and treat it like a 5 year old broke in Mercruiser. Yer gonna regret it. I read the break in procedure, it honestly will take me all summer to properly break it in. I’m willing, not able. I will follow it for one tank of gas...

Mercruiser 1999 5.0 want to upgrade to 5.7

I'm not going to upgrade until boating season is over here in Chicago. Currently my engine has newer World heads SR casting 052s. Qjet 4bbl. 600 cfm. Anyway, I see lots of options. I want to use my current heads. I want more power. So just grabbing a 5.7 short block may or may not do the trick...

I got a new transom lock, you got a brand new key?

When I bought my boat from the dealer, he recommended a transom lock. He installed the lock, never gave me the key, I've asked several times until finally he said I must pay to have it removed. I have a welder, MacGyver, you got any tried and true methods?
