    Factory drilled holes in stringers and bulkheads 1977 Spikjack

    Any ideas why these holes were drilled into the stringers and bulkheads? They can't be for drainage because they are too high on the stringers. I know they are from the factory because they in the bulkheads fore and aft of the original fuel tank (and foam).

    Bulkhead attachment between stringer and hull

    This bulkhead connects the starboard stringer to the hull. It looks like the wood is not in contact with the hull on the left (looking aft) and just has glass bridging the gap. Bad repair job or bad original construction? Does this need to be repaired asap or not that big of a deal? 1977...

    Selecting wood type for stringer repair

    I'm replacing a section of rotten stringer on my 1977 Skipjack. I've heard that the original stringers were fir or spruce. Would it be a bad idea to use a hard wood like oak for this repair?

    Questions on fuel tank replacement

    I'm replacing the fuel tank, hoses, fill, vent, etc on my 1977 Skipjack 24 open. I believe everything is original equipment. The fill is grounded to the tank, and the tank grounded to the battery, via the sender, I believe. If I replace the tank with a plastic unit do I still need to...
