    I have a 74 Glastron V156 sportster with a 85hp merc inline 4. 15' 6" long by the way. What do you think the top speed should be? With the right prop?

    Which Prop? Old merc

    Got a 15' Glastron tri-hull with a 85 merc on it. Running WOT (no tach) id be guessing around 5,500 rpm it pulls 33mph on the GPS. It has a pretty damn good holeshot, enough to set ya back like it wants to go NOW! I know this boat could do a lot better, but not sure what to use for a prop. OR...

    Picked up my first "Real" boat

    Well, I just bought a boat. 74 Glastron sportster with a 85 merc. Previous owner painted over someone elses latex paint job with automotive paint. I obviously need to start over, would just sanding down to the original paint be fine, or am I getting into something thats going to take a lot...
