    So how much flow are these suppose to have i took hose off tstat and it coming out but not a full on stream. Also bot was at the dock when i did this. Ive been over heating at high rpms

    I may have found the issue i removed water pocket cover and the gasket was brittle and not much there. I installed new gasket and sealed with form a gasket. Will update when i take her for a spin

    So i took the raw water hose that comes from the outdribe of at tstat and it is flowing like a garden hose. Also installed un restricted riser gaskets could it have anything to do with not having the the partially restrictive ones? Ive seen on the the web that that may be a problem too

    Does not overheat at idle or slow speeds. No blockage from outdrive to tstat. I am running a full unrestrictive riser gaskets.. not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also i have check to see if tstat is working properly and it is. Am i suppose to retorqe heads aafter installing the...

    The oil is clear as far as that streak on the side of dip stick

    So i drained the oil and not much milky substance. This was on the dipstick. Awhile back i did have left riser of and used the same gasket that time there was alot of milk after that i put a new riser gasket and chamged the oil once.

    1990 4.3 so i see that i have a milky substance under my right valve cover. And oil cap. Right side plugs look alittle orange. Boat does not over heat at all but does run alittle rough. How do you test head gaskets on a boat? Or is this a riser gasket problem?

    Motor runs smooth other then when give it gas it back fires although when i rebuilt carb the kit came with a longer accelerator pump plunger could that have anything to do with it

    87 4.3 merc back fires through carb at 8 btdc and runs great at 12btdc also when i turn the engine off i can hear air sucking threw motor. I am stumped.
