    ok..so this newbie moved my 50hp from one boat to another...proud of myself...i am making progres... but i reattached everything, motor turns over...etc.... but the throttle is hard to advance or reverse....it was fine until this einstein moved the motor to another boat and had to disconnect it...

    ok...self admitted newbie... taking a 50 hp off one boat and putting on another...got most of the cables off from the motor end...still all connected to the shifter box .... all but one disconnected...i think you would call it the shift cable.... one end from the shifter box and the other into...

    changing lower unit seals....johnson 50 hp 1972

    anyone tell me if a newbie can do a lower unit reseal... of my 1972 johnson 50hp...? had the white coffee color in the last drain... i am gonna change the seals on the drain plug and vent plug and cheeck, but i am worried that there is a more significant leak... tx

    1972 johnson 50 hp lower unit oil "coffee" looking

    ok...newbie here... drained the lower unit lube and it was brown/coffee looking.... is this a huge problem or what? is it likely fixable, common, problematic...what...tx for your comments.

    How old is my evinrude?

    model J4Brcic serial # Es382500 Also how many HP is this motor... can 't tell from the motor itself... i also have a gamefisher motor...trying to find out how old it is... model 298-586191 any help would be greatly appreciated
