    Just in case some cares.....I did some more digging and found out; 125 HP 1988C Has regular flat (squared) rings 125 HP 1989A-1989E Has key stone & triangle rings

    You may need a spanner-nut to remove the ring that is securing the bearing-carrier( IF you have a type C Lower-unit) What unit are repairing?? the original Or the purchased on?? I thought you had a manual?

    Have you removed the water-pump cap? the drive-shaft seal could be leaking & check the shift-shaft seal also Turn/move all shafts while checking for leaks Check if the prop-shaft is straight?! no wobble ?     I'm confused, in none of the pictures are there 4 carb in a row!?? The one picture with three in a row shows a bottom carb (center one) I thought we're trying to match top carbs only?!? How many carburetors did you buy? 1 OR 2 ?
