2010 350 Mag MPI bravo 3 gaurdian mode issue. 5% power

Maybe.... If the engine overheated and melted the FI wiring or melted an FI that would do it. Techmates a tough tool to work with as you can not read all of the live data at the same time. Plus if you have DTS techmate won't show you any of that stuff.

2010 350 Mag MPI bravo 3 gaurdian mode issue. 5% power

No. You may get a 2 beep alarm but you would not go into power reduction For the engine to go into power reduction limiting you to 5% power the engine is either overheating or has low oil pressure, or thinks that it is because of a sensor/wiring issue. Duplicate the problem and see what the oil...

Mercuiser 357 mag low compression on #6 (120 psi)

"OPs engine is a Mercruiser SBC 350 reman with anywhere from a 0.020 to 0.060 overbore sold as a "357" so it could be a 352 cube, 355 cube or 357 cube. Unless you look at the reman tag, neither you or I know the displacement.. you are arguing for the sake of arguing" You also have no idea what...

You literally have no idea what you are talking about.

Mercuiser 357 mag low compression on #6 (120 psi)

So I have all the books. Service manual 17 is for 1993 through 1997 5.0 and 5.7 engines, which is not what OP has. Service manual 18 is for 1993-1997 V6 engines, which is also what OP doesn't have. To add to that, you wrote "to get to 200 psi cranking pressure, you need to have well over...

Mercuiser 357 mag low compression on #6 (120 psi)

Sure thing chicken wing In all fairness, the DF300 engine I was quoting is the older DF300 without the lean burn technology. The photos below come from that older engine service manual. However, I do have the manual for the DF350A engine, which does have the lean burn. That engine has a 12.1...

Mercuiser 357 mag low compression on #6 (120 psi)

Good grief.... That's not even remotely correct as it doesn't apply to engines.... For example, where does the formula take into account volumetric efficiency or valve timing? Here is an example. Honda BF200 engines. The compression ratio listed in the service manual is 9.4 to 1, same as the...

Can you show me the documentation you are getting your numbers from?

Mercuiser 357 mag low compression on #6 (120 psi)

Your compression is low. Your engine is 9.4 to 1 compression and you should see compression test results in the 170 to 200 PSI ballpark. I personally would not run the engine. If you have a leaking valve you can end up burning up that valve completely until the point the valve fails, and drops...

5/8" barb fuel tank vent fitting?

ABYC does not require 2 hose clamps on the vent hose. ABYC requires 2 hose clamps on fuel fill and engine exhaust systems only. 1 clamp is fine.

Beginner Buying Used Question Re. Sea Trials

Actually, I wasn't soliciting. I asked how much money he was talking for the boat so that I could give him some sound advice. But since you assumed I was soliciting, OP can get his sound advice someplace else. Sheesh.

    5.0 Gxi-ce 270-r misfires cyl 4&7 at full throttle

Never swap ECM's. Make sure your mechanic understands live data on the scan tool and understands how fuel trims work. There could be sensor issues that are not throwing codes. You can definitely still have bad plugs. You can take a brand new spark plug and drop it on the ground just 1 time...

    5.0 Gxi-ce 270-r misfires cyl 4&7 at full throttle

Your engine should not be hitting the limiter at full speed. If the engine is rated for 5220 RPM's and it's rated for 5000 RPMS then either the power package has the wrong propellers on it or the props are slipping. I would start with a prop and prop shaft inspection first. If the props are...

    My boat is being a boat . . .

The codes mean the engine is either running richer than it should or it thinks it's running richer than it should. I would put the boat in the water, put fresh gas in it, and run the snot out of it and see if it clears up. If it duplicates make sure the engine is heating up and getting to full...

V Drive trans oil analysis 1999 380 DA

Glad to hear you are doing well. I have 2 houses, the main home and a rental. The storm put water in both houses. One insurance company has been good to deal with, the other not so much. All I can do is keep on trucking.

V Drive trans oil analysis 1999 380 DA

Hi Bill, I am doing well thanks, how are things on your end? I am down in SW FL where I have been for the last 10 years. I own a survey company and spend my days surveying boats and playing my part in processing boat insurance claims. I was ground zero for Hurricane Ian and have been busier...

V Drive trans oil analysis 1999 380 DA

I look at maybe 100 oil analysis samples every year. The short version of this is a 1 off oil sample really doesn't mean much unless it's showing water, potassium, or sodium, all of which indicate a saltwater leak. ' Oil analysis is used as a tool by fleets to measure engine wear over time so...

    api scan tool opinions?

You didn't say what you were going to be working on. If you are going to be working on Mercury, Mercruiser and Volvo Diacom is the best you are going to get short of buying G3 and Vodia, which you can not get without a dealer license. The best part about diacom is the updates have always...
