Ok. Coming back to the knowledge pool. Put a new long block in. Got it to start and running. Now, it overheats at idle. I believe that there may be a small exhaust leak...would that cause it to run hot? I am fairly new to this. I just need to know if I should be looking for a new thermostat, or...
Thanks! It was the shift interrupter. Got it to fire right up now. Now, the issue I am dealing with is, it won't start after it's hot. Just cranks. Acts like it wants to start, but won't crank up. Wait a while, and it'll fire right up again.
So, this is my first engine swap. I put all my accessories on my 5.7 long block and started it up out of the boat. Started and ran fine. Put it in the boat..plug in the wiring harness...cranks, no start. Put the jumper wires in the plug..fires up and runs. Sounds like I am missing a ground...
