    need info on drilling out jets/install larger jets

    after much research i still am unable to find any info on how to drill out jets on this 1977 70hp evinrude. Model 70EL77S. I have heard that some earlier evinrudes had to have the jets drilled and resized but have yet to find any info on this particular yr. and model of motor. thanks

    Do i need to buy specific marine spark plug wires or will any plug wire from any automotive parts distributor suffice for my 1977 70hp engine?

    Joe Reeves WOT timing proceedure...spark tester???

    was going to try timing my engine. Following the Reeves timing proceedure in the top secret files. Just wondering what a spark tester consists of and how do i rig it? Is this spark tester a tool i have to purchase or is it something i make up myself?

    engine running cool.....poor idle....great wot

    1977..70hp evenrude. model #70773/70779 this engine has been giving me grief since i bought it used. Works great at full speed and almost everywhere in between but fails to stay idling or trolling speed. I coughs and spits and dies while at low idle either in nuetral or moving. I read on here...

    another tell tale question.......location on earlier rude

    The bulletin was specific to 1985 through to 1994. So...if mine is a 1977 model of 70hp, can/should i drill on top the motor next to the lifting eye as seen in the photo in the bulletin as well? thanks
