    o ring on main shaft

    does the o ring on the shaft above the water pump stay near the top of the shaft when you stick it back on the powerhead or does it go in the water pump.<br />the o ring is tight to the shaft.<br />1976 erude mod#55672e<br />thanks.

    i have gone through all the trouble shooting for my 55 rude and it's looking like i need a starter.<br />the only place in town has to order it @340.00<br />it's a preston starter the cost discerning.<br />can you by a rebuild kit or should i just eat the cost of new to avoid on the lake...

    starter trouble

    my 55 horse evirude started ok,went about a mile then ran poorly.<br />when trying to start it back up the bedix would not come up in the flywheel.it's a 650 cranking amp battery.<br />it makes a whining sound but and clicks occasionally but wont start.<br />tried to pull start but no luck<br...

    wont run

    my evinrude 55 horse starts fine i warm it up,get going on plane then it loses rpm.<br />will not run properly i sprayed carb cleaner in the top carb it wants to die,but if i spray in bottom carb it revs up.<br />any ideas thanks to all who reply.<br />model #55672e.

    outboard jet trouble
