Sanding between layers with Bondo resin?

So from what I understand, there are two different types of polyester resin. Type A (requires no sanding) and Type B (requires sanding). Is this correct? if so, what is Bondo's resin? I think I read that it is type B, but i'm not sure. I'm trying to avoid sanding. This is the stuff I'm talking...

What goes between stringer and hull?

I cut my stringers today and they fit perfectly. I have a few questions before I put them in though. Mainly, I have heard that the wood is not supposed to touch the hull directly, but what should go between the stringer and hull? Thank you, Vandy

    Stringer Wood

Sorry guys, I know this is a popular post, and a little research will turn up a lot of results, but I am wondering exactly what type of wood is best for stringer wood. I know people say things like "Douglas fir" and "cedar" or whatever, but exactly what kind of wood? If I were to walk into Lowes...

    chipping out stringer wood

I'm thinking of going the seacast root when it comes to replacing my stringers. I cut them open so the fiberglass remains on the outsides, but the wood is accessible from the top. On the seacast web site it says to do this, and then chip out the stringer wood. does anyone have any good methods...

    Seacasting Stringers

Has anyone used seacast for replacing their stringers? Also, the fiberglass around the previous stringers is still pretty much in tact, but some sections of it are missing, is there an easy way to fix this if I want to pour seacast? I've heard you can use duct tape to repair small portions of...

Who will be in the National Championship?

Pitt just beat West Virginia, and Oklahoma is in the process of beating Missouri right now, just adding to the season of upsets. Regardless of who your support, I doubt anyone saw all of these upsets this year. How do the rest of you feel?

At what point should I paint?

I am in the process of replacing the floors on my boat, and then i plan on painting the boat. The stage where I am at, I have stripped almost everything except for the stringers from the hull. Marine Vinyl

I am looking into recovering the seats on my boat, and I was wondering if there is any special marine vinyl I should use? Is there a better weight (oz) or anything? I want to use a glossy white and a red. Any suggestions or sources where I can get good vinyl would be much appreciated.

    Flooring question

I am replacing the floors on my boat right now, and need to decide what material to use on the new floor. I do not want to put carpet back into the boat because I have heard that they trap water and can make the floor rot faster. So my question is, what are my other options? I want something...

    Trailer Brakes

I have an 18' Bayliner that sits on an escort trailer. I am looking to add trailer brakes because I tow the boat with my Volvo.
