    '58 Johnny Seahorse, Electric start????

    Just got said motor for quite cheap, had battery cables, and starter motor, book lists this motor as either rewind or electric start. I am thinking this will need extra parts i.e. lighting coil, more wiring, worth it? I have no problem pulling on a cord.. Any ideas, thoughts, sugesstions...... :D

    prop size 1 1/2 in smaller than original, been whittled on..

    this is the original prop for this motor '56 MercElectric Mark 25E part # 48 23647A1, embossed in prop, problem is prop is supposed to be 11 inches in diameter, but measures only 9 3/8 inches.... could this be why boat will not reach charted speeds, it is currently running 10 - 15 mph slower...
