    what Horsepower??

    I have a 1958 Mercury that I have conflicting reports on its HP. The registration says its a 45hp, somebody on here said it was a 40hp and my mechanic doesn't think its over a 35hp. :confused: Its serial # is 1135875, model # 55E. Thanks.

    45 HP Mercury, won't shift right, please help

    I dropped the lower unit out of a 1958 45hp mercury to change a grommet, and now when I tried to put it back on I couldn't get it to drop out of gear. It will shift at the shifter but it won't go into neutral, or forward for that matter. thanks

    35 hp again....

    Well, after cleaning the carb out and putting a new float in, the motor still won't start. When we try starting it the bottom spark plug will be wet while the top plug will stay dry and when we take the bottom plug out it will try to fire on one cylinder. What's wrong with this thing? It ran...

    4hp aero marine division??

    I have a 4hp outboard that is supposedly made by the Aero Marine Division, or possibly the Aero CEANIC Cor. It's model # is 4000 and it is a year 71-73. It doesn't have a spark and I think its the coil. Anyone have any idea about this motor. ANY info would be much appreciated. thanks

    35 hp johnson won't start

    I have a 1958 Johnson 35hp serial #1811343 and model #RDS 20. Up until now it ran fine, when we tried to start it today it started and then died a minute later. We have gas to the carb nipple and good spark. We squirted gas into the carb and it will fire. Do I have something plugged or what? Thanks
