'22 Mercury 115 Pro XS, best prop?

Engine is 2022 Mercury Pro XS 115hp, the regular version, not the command thrust. Boat is a Tahoe T18, with our current load and gear, we run a top speed of 40.5-41mph at approx. 5300rpm at WOT and fully trimmed out (as far as the engine will allow), engine has the 4 blade 17 pitch SS Spitfire...

Looking for a light, all around anchor

I would think the 10 feet of chain we have should help with the lighter anchor. I could even up it to 15 feet, I'd rather pull up a 4lb anchor on 15 feet of chain vs a 15lb anchor on 10 feet of chain.

    Bowriders that handle waves well?

We took our 19 foot bowrider out on a rough day, probably not super rough compared to the ocean, but we were seeing 1-2 foot waves regularly, and some probably got closer to 3. This was on a long inland lake with very nasty winds. I'm sure it depends on the boat as well, but I just kept fiddling...

Looking for a light, all around anchor

Bought a 4lb Danforth knockoff, not the slip ring, heard bad things, but I'm going to keep it hooked to 200 feet of line and 10 feet of 1/4 chain. Should work.

Tahoe T18 with 115hp Pro XS / is it underpowered?

I too, was on this lake, same time, same day...maybe even on the same boat. I can confirm, 40.5mph at full throttle in the wind and chop. I'd say we'd hit probably 45mph on a calmer day, and probably closer to 50mph with 1 or 2 people on board. What say you, black max? Should we try it? Also...

Looking for a light, all around anchor

I like that a lot, cheap if it gets banged up and I could cut the bar ends off to help make it a little smaller for storage.

Looking for a light, all around anchor

What would be a good, relatively light all around anchor? We have a 15lb Navy anchor with 10 feet of chain and 100 feet of line, but it's a bit of a bear to pull in (no windlass). We anchor mostly over muck/mud, but would like the ability to anchor in sand and gravel, and weeds. I'd like to find...

Does EFI solve the hard start/cranking issue?

I figured that, should start fine until there's an issue, then it won't

Tahoe T18 with 115hp Pro XS / is it underpowered?

Check out the Tahoe T18 Boat Owners on Facebook, if you're on Facebook that is. Most people report going anywhere from 40 to 54mph, but I don't know their load, prop, etc. We are actually taking delivery of this boat tomorrow, with the 115hp PRO XS, and we will be taking it straight from the...

Does EFI solve the hard start/cranking issue?

We're getting our new boat tomorrow, has a 2021-22 Mercury PRO XS 115 on it. We've only ever had carbed two stroke boat engines before this, and you know what I'm talking about...sit and crank. Sometimes it might start second pull, sometimes it takes a while. Assuming there's no fuel related...

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

No they're not. By BOAT and ALL GEAR in my first post I meant dry with motor and trailer. I should have been more specific for the pedantic. The weight is 3000 with trailer, with all gear and fuel. It's factored into the weight if they listed the hull weight and then the package weight...

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

I was mainly wondering if anyone had any experience retrieving with a FWD and if they had any tips beyond my ideas

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

The traction is what I'm worried about, not weight so much. However, I do see your point, if it's within the towing capacity it shouldn't unload the front drive wheels too much. The vehicle has new tires. We live in an area where it snows so a good set of tires is always kept on it, year round.

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

No, hull weight is listed as 1600, the trailer itself is probably closer 700 since the motor itself weighs around 350lbs since the total, listed dry weight is around 2,700.

    Anchor line/rode size

I am keeping a set of gloves on board for this very reason

    Launching/retrieving with FWD

So, we have a 3000lb boat (2,600 dry with motor) with all gear and fuel, probably closer to 3,000. We have two vehicles, one is AWD and rated at 5000lbs and another that is FWD and rated at 3,500. Obviously, it would make more sense to take the more suited vehicle, however, sometimes that will...

    Anchor line/rode size

What width anchor rode do you have? We went with the Navy, it's like a fluke but beefier, I figured it would do decently well in mud or sand. Was kind of looking for a more universal anchor, has the weight to dig into mud but also has flukes to hold in sand.
