    help getting retainer off.

    I started to work on my lower unit today and ran into a little problem. I can't get the retainer off. I got the four screws off but the retainer is stuck in. I have a 1979 chrylser 4hp sea king. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    adding sealant to lower unit?

    Hi all,<br /><br /> I am getting ready to rebuild my lower unit. When I put it back, do I need some kind of sealant on the mating surfaces of the lower unit to the leg? I remember reading something about adding non-hardening sealant somewhere. Do I need to put sealant anywhere? Thanks.

    transporting engine on it's back. A problem?

    Hi all,<br /><br /> I have a Chrysler 4hp sea king motor and planning to transport it on the bed of my truck. The motor will be on it's back. Is this bad for the motor? Will it leak oil, will the gas flood the engine, etc... Thanks.

    Can't tell if water pump is working.

    Hi all,<br /><br /> Does anyone know how to tell if the water pump is working on a 1979 4hp sea king motor? I can not tell if water circulating through the engine. I am assuming the water is coming back out somewhere near the prop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
