    95 502 needs help

First a pump can output 1000 psi but if the Reg is set to 30, then all anyone can see is 30 This can also happen if the Reg is bad and will only allow pressure up to 30 psi when it should do 37 In short the pump is not the issue

    Banging

Note in above statement both say port, so this is only happening with port? Also noting if the rpm does not come up under load on starboard (STB) this would be understandable, because the STB motor can not spin up same RPM under load with port being low

    Banging

With the banging starting and stopping, first make sure your drive is not trimmed up to high If trim is within limits and still get the banging, then I would suspect the folks working on your drive are not doing much. It's most likely the U-joints

    95 502 needs help

The VST 502 should have 37 psi and the cool fuel has 43 psi Adding a Reg after the pump will do nothing to help, only hurt. The Reg at end of fuel rail is there to bleed off any pressure above 37 psi to the low section of the rail back to the VST. There is a break in SN for the VST but both...

All gauges went out. What to look for?

It may not have a fuse block, may use only breakers, but then again may also have fuses. The thing is as a manufacturer can do what ever they want to

Need a voltmeter to find out where power is being lost. I really need the motor serial number Look for the slave relay The top post will have larger red/purple and yellow/red wires. The red/pur comes from the 50 amp breaker and the yel/red goes to the starter solenoid Cross the top post and...

    Starter Slave Solenoid

Looking at the parts catalog things don't add up, so my guess is there are more prats then listed. Merc started going away from the older slave relay and just using the smaller square plastic ones. The parts catalog shows only one of this type relay, but being an MPI it would require more then...

Velvet drive 72c with gear reduction submerged. Will water get into it?

Most but not all I would think Anything lower then where it's draining can hold water. Could put a suction line in where its draining.

Velvet drive 72c with gear reduction submerged. Will water get into it?

Looking at the front of the trans on the left side down low is the trans cooler connection. Remove the line and drain unless you see a drain plug. If trans is mounted to V-drive look at bottom of casing. Dexron trans fluid or any hydraulic oil which meets C-3 oil specifications Fill, run...
