    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

One thing to consider is will you be to far up for the windshield to work. I am to tall for mine and wish I had made something custom, but that is another story. SHSU

Any protection you put on the wood is more then what came from factory. You will see many different ways people have done it on the forum. Ultimately, as long as your happy that is all that matters. Never heard of using Canvas glued and painted as a protectant. I would almost be concerned...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

I can't remember if I beveled my edges or not on the square boards. I did on the front section though. I used a jigsaw to cut my bevels. SHSU

You don't want to mix anodes. Magnesium is not good in saltwater and can cause issues. I use Zinc on mine and like you do both Saltwater/freshwater. As for the windshield, was thinking something pretty simple. Just an aluminum sheet that is bent to support the edge and then a cut out for...

Your using the boat, so if you happy with the console that is all that matters. As for the windshield, I wish I had one fabricated instead of using the original ones. I am 6' 2" and the windshield does nothing for me. I am a good foot higher then it when seated. Since you changed the...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

When putting the flooring back together, make sure to use wood joiners under the deck between the sheets. You can screw into them and it will help keep the floor even and prevent sheets from warping different ways compared to the partnered sheet. Plus if you are doing post seating, this is...

    New Journey

Wood looks nice, but that bottom seat pic seems much easier to maintain. Plus if you need to replace anything, its not like having to reprep wood for paint. SHSU

We used 5200 on every rivet and only cleaned with acetone before shoving a new rivet in. Haven't had a leaky rivet thus far.... knock on wood. SHSU

Besides the ease of maintenance, why screws vs rivets? Screws have a tendency to back out on the thin aluminum and the secured deck helps with the structural integrity. SHSU

Steel 2000, from Fasco? I used the steelflex on mine and very happy. Opted not to use the superslick as I decided to use starboard on my bunks. It is slick enough as is and will admit I have almost dropped the boat on the ramp because of it. SHSU

I think most do it because that is what factory did. It allows plenty of room to access bilge pump, pump auto switch, livewell intakes, and easy view if water is in bilge. I created a piece that I could put in the hole to cover it, but in the end did not use. I am paranoid about water in the...

Interesting, I have a SS16 that we take out 2-3 miles from shore when we run to the tip of the jetty off Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico. We do have to pick our days, but does the job. As for your project, I would have to defer to others, but believe the consensus is to add the support bracket...

I like the idea of wood look, just not sure on it as a floor. I saw you mention vinyl, so guessing going to do something with texture to prevent slipping when wet. SHSU
