Taxes will drive up the shop labor / overhead costs.-----Tariffs will drive up the cost of parts and new motors.----Regulations / fees drive up the cost of boating.----In many places you can not simply put an affordable boat in the water anymore to have a day of fun.
Agreed----Older motors are of little value since it costs too much for shops to do basic service.---That is if you can find a shop to work on them.------And folks who know how to fix older motors often get them for free or less than $50.
???-----The motor should start and run with fuel pumped into the carburetors with primer bulb.-----Buying a new ( $$$ ) electric fuel pump might not be a wise step.
E-bay / internet sellers are not knowledgeable of the products they sell.----They just process numbers and information !----Find / deal with your local friendly shop , if you still have one.
