    THAT's the key. Most people just don't use common sense. Most of the trailers in the lot have no security. Put a simple lock on yours and you won't have a problem.

    That's the way I personally set up all my boats, but that is not the norm. Today most boats come from the factory with 2 simple cheap bunks and no keel support at all. Although launching like that ain't my cup of tea, but I never saw a transom crush like that.

    Good idea in principal. However, if you have a fuel problem, neither engine will run. My personal setups have different gas tanks for the main and kicker. Also the mains are electric start, while the kickers are manual. If the battery goes dead, my kicker will always run.
