Can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be this AM

You have managed to make an incredibly beautiful picture which just by its angle creates a completely different dimension. I can fully see now what draws you to that place

    Boat trailer bunk bracket question

Another solution, probably much easier,is to put a thick silicone or soft rubber layer under the carpet. That way, the bunk will adapt to the shape of the hull.

Where would you rather fish the 3rd week in October

I get it, but considering that a charter taking you to the gulf stream costing roughly $2000 for a day fishing, where as you arrive, you will find that the sharks have learned to connect the boat's engine noise to festive meals that are at the end of your line and soon will be in their bellies...

Where would you rather fish the 3rd week in October

20 and 30 pounders are not quite schoolies, but yes I agree , these yellow fin tuna are not 100 pounders. Another addition to the fun are the huge schools of Mahi Mahi. usually in the 20 to 30 pound range. I could also mention the sailfish and Marlin.

    Advice On Stringer/Transom Repair

Marine plywood is nice and dense but it rots just as fast as any other plywood. The best material for a transom is probably cedar plywood. It does not rot like other plywoods. Starcraft used it on their boats and left it unpainted. You can usually get it in 1/2 inch boards so you would have to...

    Careful with those fireworks!

With all those fireworks and a thousand rounds of ammo he may have been planning to become a pirate like Admiral Drake

    Crack in the Jon

I had a similar problem. I went to a metal store and picked up a scrap piece of aluminum plate for $3 and cut it to the size I wanted, sanded the area down a bit, drilled holes for the rivets, put M5200 on the surface, stuck it on and riveted it tight. If you are uncomfortable with rivets you...

Changing a 1989 4.3 liter gmc block to fuel injection

I have the Mercruiser shift interrupter installed, so that should not be problem. The $2000+ ticket is a very convincing reason as to why not, specially since my current setup is fine and $2000 is enough to go to Costa Rica and fish offshore for 2 days.

Changing a 1989 4.3 liter gmc block to fuel injection

Your answer is very clear. On the Yes, I would like to know how. On the No, could you tell me why?

OMC cobra new long block back firing when first starting

When you say long block, did you get a block with a warranty and was it tested as michigan motorz does or is it a local shop? I had the same problem. It turned out that I had set the timing on to the exhaust stroke instead of the compression stroke

Where would you rather fish the 3rd week in October

My choice would be in the Pacific of the coast of Costa Rica. I just got back from there and few things are as exiting as finding a school of dolphins with yellow fin underneath. I just got back and it is wild. 30 tuna in two hours of muscle ripping fights. It helps if you have a trusted guide...

When do you pull your freshwater boat?

I pull my Lake Ontario salmon fishing rig in the beginning of September. Not because of the weather, but because when the salmon starts running for the rivers, so do fishing boats, by the hundreds. Salmon fishing turns into combat fishing with aggressive inexperienced boaters trolling lines...

Electric boat maker shutters plant in WV

I/O engines have never been popular in salt water, mostly because manifolds and salt water do not go together well. So why put one in when outboards do not have the problem?

Electric boat maker shutters plant in WV

Although I am an old fart, I am way to young to "remember " the Hindenburg disaster. I only read about it. Static electricity is a known, but invisible risk. Even today it causes fires at gas stations when a static electricity spark ignites gasoline. There is at least one state in the USA where...

Electric boat maker shutters plant in WV

So electric power may not yet be the answer. The bugs will probably be eliminated one by one. The only way to move forward with alternative energy sources is to try ,fail, and try again until serious progress is achieved. We know what gasoline does to the environment and I think we would all...

    Identify this fuel guage

I would just google "marine fuel gauge" and then click images. There is a very good chance that your gauge will pop up while scrolling down the many gauges that are shown. I think that it is a generic white gauge.
