    rec gas and mercruiser

I ran regular gasoline in my Mercruiser when I had one. If I had one today and did the family out on Sunday afternoon thing with water toys and all and used the boat frequently E10 wouldn't bother me a bit and probably no additives other than a little injector cleaner now and then like I do in...

    rec gas and mercruiser

Can of worms but I find gasoline filling stations around marinas and launch sites here in N. Texas.....HMMMM. Also today I stumbled across a New Sea Foam "Marine" grade fuel treatment. Lots of good things in the can application area. Bought some. I run gasoline in my current 2 stroker OB...

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

The fuel pump in the motor "sucks on it" while the engine is running after your squeezing hand pressure filled up the line with gas.

    What's the difference 1000ss -v- 1000

    Help with motor height adjustment

We haven't heard from the thread originator "Monkeybird747" since somebody took the liberty to move this thread from where it was. You don't suppose he couldn't find it to tell us how his latest and hopefully final test ran???????

    Looking for a prop

Mercury's shaft is 15 spline and the 75 thru 125 4 cylinder OB 2 strokers run 13-14 inch range with pitches up to 24" (Ballistic 13+x24) which I was running when I took this picture in my avatar.

    Prop Recommendation

Good info from Scott. On the loaner thing, cheapest way to get it right even though you pay more for the exact prop you can find off the shelf elsewhere....obviously.....butttttt look at the big picture...you saved yourself buying 3 or 4 and not necessarily getting what you want. Remember the...

    Changing to stainless steel prop

You can't jump off the aluminum wagon and onto the SS wagon...not that simple. OEM aluminum general purpose props vs SS which are usually high performance props, and that could be high performance in tasks other than top speed. are like night and day.

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

I don't know if you can siphon with a check valve since there is a pressure drop across them and atmospheric pressure is like 1/2#/FT of elevation....not much. Something has to push against the spring to get the valve to open and that's the weight of the fuel in the line. My thought was that...

    Constant beep when i accelerate

Optimax is fuel injected 2 stroke isn't it? 2 strokes burn oil with the fuel. Oily residue can become visible in the exhaust circuit, especially if you do a lot of trolling, and in cold weather...but its not cold right now.....so that's out. Only other oil is in the LU gearbox and it would...

    Is that normal?

That's probably your exhaust relief port where exhaust gasses can escape then the engine is running and the boat isn't moving. As I said "exhaust........" and cooling water accompanies exhaust gasses through the midsection. Maybe you have the water pressure or volume higher than what you are...

    Prop Recommendation

Reducing pitch is how you take a given boat and maintain "hole shot" performance for increases in load. Change in RPM on this site is generally 150 to 200 RPM change per inch pitch change.....diameter may change a few fractions of an inch but that's in the prop design. You usually will have...

Trying to find replacement prop for force 85 single exhaust

Have you tried any of these suppliers? The site is search results for my putting in that PN for a 13+x 15 and I got the PN from iboats prop section but they had "unavailable" on all the 13 thru 19P I checked for your engine. I had a 1971 85 HP Chrysler,,,predecessor to your engine with the...

    Ranger boat model un known

I just happen to have a 1987 Sales Brochure. The models are all Commanche and the layout comes with an identifying number, like the 395VS which is the top of the line outboard at 20'1" x 90" beam, down to the 320V at 15'10" and 78" beam. They offered 1 I/O the 395V (not VS). Then they have...

    Help with motor height adjustment

Agree on some props designed for stern lift, and others for bow lift. Just depends on the application. I am currently running a 4 blade Solace SS on my 2002 1750 Crestliner Fish Hawk with a 2002 Mercury 115 2 stroke for that very reason in 19 P.....(running a 2:1 gear box on the 115). I had a...

    2004 2+2 125hp ELPTO 2 stroke CONSTANT ALARM

Faztbullet responded to my post on the subject one day as I had just lost my magnet and he said that you either had to cut the tank in half and glue it back together or buy a new tank.......Since he is who he is, and does what he does, I took his word for it......so, my simplistic solution was...

water pump and shift shaft position

Scuse me sir...putting out false information again... Well Faz, what do you do when you chop the throttle and the prop quits turning while the boat is still running 50 MPH...for a number? I had a 70 hp Johnson lockup (over heated and before the days of alarms) on me at about 40 MPH one day on...
