    The timing tool is nothing but a " dummy " flywheel and a time saver.-----You can use the timing marks on your flywheel to do the same procedure.----I missed the new fuel pump in post #1 perhaps.----Strong spark means nothing to me.----Does spark jump a gap of 1/4", yes or no ?

    Prop should spin with your little pinky finger.-----Perhaps lower unit was full of water at one time.-----Here I would take lower unit apart in seconds to inspect bearings and gears.----Perhaps lower unit is binding up , thus the lack of speed.

    Compression is so confusing.----Reading of 90 is fine.-----Find the real reason for the lack of speed.

    The 90 / 95 is very good.-----The 1980 and newer are a wonderful motor.-----Is it running on both cylinders ?-----Pull one lead off the sparkplug.---Try and start it .-----Repeat with other lead.----Anything broken on carburetor linkages ?

    The 70 HP triple was first marketed in 1974.----And it sure came with a warning horn in the control box.-----Simply amazing that folks own these motors .---Know nothing about them or do not care to learn.-----Just turn the key and roar away from the dock.-----No wonder some of these fine motors...

    How did it run for you last season ?-----Check belt timing.-----Check valve clearance.-----Post results of a compression test.----Those carburetors take some folks 3 tries to get everything clean enough.-----Do not run it anymore till you determine the issue.
