    Ayuh,..... Both the '87, 'n the '95 do Not have vortec heads,.... Previous to '96, vortec meant absolutely nothing,.... just a word on the valve covers,.....

    Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... As noted above, the most likely problem is the trim limit wires on the trim limit switch on the drive are rotted off,..... Does it work with the tilt switch,..??

    Ayuh,...... When reinstalling, Everything, has to be in forward,...... I use a bungee strap on the prop shaft to hold tension on the clutch, so's it Stays in forward,....

    Ayuh,..... Considerin' Merc has been deletin' grease fittin's since the mid-late-'80s, there's no doubt a dry pin somewhere,.... As noted above, pull the drive, 'n manually move the bellhousin' to tryin' find which one,.... Then lube 'em all with spray oil,....

    Ayuh,..... Does the controller work, without the throttle cable attached,..?? It sounds like the shifting part of the controller ain't quite right,....
