The mercrusier manual #14 is for the alpha 1 gen 2 which is probably what you have. It covers the outdrive. There's a lot of rubber bits that go bad over time..
Get a hold of a oem manual so you can get familiar with what you're dealing with. Depending on previous maintenance you could be in need of some new parts. Prevention is a good thing.
Maybe some debris got knocked loose when you worked on the fuel line and it lodged In a pre filter or float valve... since you mentioned fuel dripping in the carb My guess is the float valve has dirt in it..
That would depend on how well you backed up the engine mount. Looks good from here though I believe you will have quite a long reach to raise and lower it...
Well I'll get back in the back seat.. I'm not beholden to my 2001 GMC, most of the electronic stuff has failed long ago and I'm just waiting for the lights to burn out..:)
I've been in the back seat of this thread and you all have convinced me to keep my 2001 1500 as long as I can. I really don't need additional headaches...
The water pump impeller is a given, change it before you crank it up again and hopefully you don't destroy your motor..it gives you a baseline to work from...
