Sand the crap out of it then wipe with acetone prior to install. Make template, looks like you have one from the tear out. Glass the side 1st being set in pb and let dry. Apply pressure, squeeze out pb, make filets then glass the ply.

    88 Capri Restoration (Splashed 08/2022)

Hey, Scott, did you get a thread on that tinny? I don't recall seeing it. Not to highjack anyone's thread buy I sure do like @sphelps[/USER] classic and smaller boat rehabs. And I sure know about getting beat up, age, arthritis etc. Digging the small wood boats.

Break out the pressure washer or hose and let it rip to see possible leaks. Another mechanical device like a pump to solve an uncertainty is a band aid/trouble. When your finished the deck will or should be water tight.

Being where you are with the boat at this time why not try to find the sources of the leak in the bow instead of compensating with an add'l pump.

Sooooo... Camera was giving me issues with downloading. This weekend pulled off the cover and pressured washed everything and used a soaker. Used dawn soap with the soaker, then pressure washer. No issues with @Woodonglass famous paint formula. 2050 electric pressure washer. Wrapped up the...

    Side of floor supports

Ear''s my useless opinion. Putting a deck over a deck is BS and cheap fix. Rip out the ole deck look at the status of the existing structure. Make a decision from there on how to repair, replace or bulk up so the new deck can go side to side. From what I researched the company always made...

    Fixing Another DIYers Bass Boat

Like Scott said... crappy floor replacement. That being said since that looks so sad I would be concerned about the quality of the wood under the deck. Stringers and bulkheads may be compromised.

    Fixing Another DIYers Bass Boat

Pretty odd area to work with so here is my suggestion. You could use marine foam 2# to fill voids. Sand back to below flush. Use epoxy or poly after sanding to filled exposed/sanded cells. You could skim coat with some pb to level out. Next lay glass over to bring flush. At least 2 layers...

Glue finally set up on the teak. One side more than the other was rough saw cut. Cleaned up both sides and picked this side for the face. Needs trim to fit. Cleaned off saw cut and poxy with 60 grit then worked up to 220. Put one coat of stain for look. Probably little more sanding after cut to...
