Two Layers of 3/4 CSM versus One Layer of 1.5 CSM

Fiberglass Mat Chopped strand mat is very economical and offers good stiffness. However, for greater strength and a lower weight product biaxials and woven cloth fabrics are generally used. All the following mats are compatible for use with polyester resins and vinyl ester resin...

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

After you get them trimmed out what let me know the benefits of them. I have the old set off the boat and need to wire and place in addition to the control pad. I know they are for plaining and getting out of the "HOLE" faster. Just looking forward to your opinion.

    1970 Stamas clearwater 24' rebuild

Nice boat! The foam in the stringers is basically not for strength. When done there are like 6 layers of glass over the foam for strength. You could easy scalp the tops off to remove foam and then pour new foam back in. After you cut the excess foam to height then roll or brush resin over the...

The only prob I found with the bubble rollers are they catch a strand and pull out the glass strands. Gets messy. So while doing it have pair of scissors handy and cut off asap while rolling. Other alternative/ in addition is to use a pointed chip brush. Cut the brush to a point, use it to...

Wanna have fun... My project from the 1800's still ongoing. I knew NOTHING! I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without these Bleeps! So ask, measure and ask and measure again. Somewhere it becomes very very cool. I went from a smaller boat to a monster.

No, because you are tying it all together as bulkheads to stringers. Actually the combination is stronger in my opinion.

Quote; "For your deck you can use the 1.5 CSM on both sides and you will probably be just fine. Some folks on here recommend a light weight cloth instead. The cloth will leave a smoother finish. If your boat is fiberglass then you will need to tab the deck to the hull with something more...

    1978 Chrysler floor help?

Was there ever a tank under the deck on these boats as an option? That is where it would be placed. Some leave a channel to pull wiring etc. but does not have to be wide. That wire can also be placed in a pipe then foamed in. On another note maybe their was a prior rehab which may explain it. Or...

    1978 Chrysler floor help?

I would probably go full length with the stringers and add a couple of bulkheads. In stern I would box out a splash well for a bilge pump. def. on the foam like Scott said.
