There is a lot of great info to be had in the stickies. Frisco is awesome too. Scott has provided some great links. Dig and research as much as possible and you will get the feel of how to proceed and ask questions. I guess what I'm saying is it is much easier to answer questions because you...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Did some sanding on the outside of the gunnels to remove my slop epoxy . Wanted to start pb'ing and glassing the underside of the gunnels. I found my cabosil and chopped glass had gotten moisture in it. Oh well, ordered a little batch. Installed new tires/4 and finally got to see the light show...

New member - deck install panga

Just so you understand cut closed foam is now open cell. Just a quick info in regard to marine foam. When poured thru the deck it will attach to under the deck. And remains closed cell. Nothing is required if you don't know or care. This is just a heads up for others is all. I thought this was...

    Stringer encapsulation.( Air pockets.)

So BTW if it's the bottom of the wood that you are bedding to the hull it doesn't need to be glassed. Just very well wetted out. If your glassing fails and bedding fails when you tab them in then you way more problems in regards to fab and install. This isn't even a conversation about overkill...

    Stringer encapsulation.( Air pockets.)

The issues I found myself with solid lumbers is that are not truly cured. The glass heats up to some degree and the woods gas off. This can happen repeatedly. Very frustrating. I would suggest patch repairs and babysit it while curing to work the air out if it starts. Other things you can do on...

1966 Dorsett San Juan 19' Full Restoration

Typically, the grooves/strakes are where the stringers go. Looks like what's there is normal, just a crappy job. Bulkheads can be anywhere at this point and add horizontal strength in addition to more work. I would add a bulkhead somewhere to pick up the sides of the hull. Bilge/pump a def. ...
