    according to the pre 1994 force engine harness diagram....purple is his tach wire coming from his engine harness.

    so....in my mind.... red comes from your harness to the ign. switch for switch power. ....that leaves 5 remaining switch terminals 4 terminals are used for: eng. start....eng. stop....choke....stator/cdi.. ......that leaves one terminal left.... that terminal is for key on, power to instruments...
