Stupid mistake: Can it be fixed?

I guess what I'm saying is if the engine ran 2 months ago with no problem then you left it in the rain and it has water in it the last thing you want to do is turn it over without getting the contaminated oil out of it, the starter is the least of your worries..

Stupid mistake: Can it be fixed?

Get the water out of the boat, drain oil and replace then try to start but not before changing oil. You might get lucky cause it's rain water and not salt. What's a mystery to me is how water got into the engine. Don't you have a cover on it?

Black wire from thunderbolt iv harness/est dissy

Seems a pretty common occurrence. I got my present boat last year and it had one. I have no idea what it went to but I hooked it up to the nearest known good ground and nothing blew up..

    Upgrading Gen 5 VP V8-300 (300HP) to a V8-350 (350 HP)

I can't imagine that just changing the spark advance curve would buy 50hp. But I've been wrong more than right..

    Anchor stuck for 2nd time

It's good you were able to retrieve it, I'm guessing you had a scuba outfit, maybe not but good deal! You run full chain and would have been a significant loss.

    Anchor stuck for 2nd time

I misunderstood, your anchor is setting too good and you can't retrieve it. I thought it wasn't setting properly. I never had a Bruce, mine were always Danforth style. I guess you could put a trip line on it?

    Anchor stuck for 2nd time

It probably has a lot to do with the procedure for setting anchor, the chain lays on the bottom and prevents the anchor from setting especially in the evening when the wind dies down and you have no umph to bite in...

    Anchor stuck for 2nd time

Most of my boating life has been on sail on a 6k boat.. too much chain will prevent the anchor from hooking. For lake use I like about 8 feel of chain ..I always looked for a lee shore and waited it out always watching for wind shifts..
