    Part Identification

I have never seen a zinc shaped like that and they are not supposed to be painted over . The piece you're trying to take off is not part of any zinc set-up that I'm aware of. Looks like some sort of paddle wheel speed sending unit and the " zinc " is some sort of transducer.

    240 THOMPSON BOTTOM DEADRISE

How critical can it be , the hull is always moving side to side . Not like a ducer , that you're trying to mark the rigger weights with . More of a guideline for optimal conditions . What are the choices you have for the ducer deadrises ?

    240 THOMPSON BOTTOM DEADRISE

Usually you only have 2 , degree options , with the ducer . The only way to do it properly is to locate the area where you're going to install it and use your cell after downloading a app for it . Might have to Google something like app for leveling or measuring degrees . Protractor or...

    Cabrio Air conditioner

Exactly and you can leave the " probably" out of the equation. The R-22 ( most boats use this because it's what homes use and is probably cheaper ) freon had to get into system to begin with and there is only one way that is done , through the schrader valve . Sometimes they are covered with a...

    Bow light not working

It's supposed to have power on one terminal and none on the other terminal until you flip the switch. So the switch is bad if no power is being sent to the other terminal. No need to rewire anything.

Where’s the gas gauge sending unit ?

If your tank is leaking , it must be cut out and replaced. Not just a Smokercraft issue , Grady White among other " name " builders are notorious for having to cut out the floor to get to the tank . Should be plywood under the carpet , not a big deal to replace and re carpet .

Trying to remove cabin light.....cant figure it out

I would buy a Milwaukee 12 or 18 volt fan and use that . Beauty of that is ,,,, can be moved and used anyplace on the boat . Great for fly and mosquito control .

    Washdown Pump Issues

Leave all the hoses ,outlets and anything else ,stock . Raw water wash down pump is probably.( as in 99% chance ,) seized up . Fuse is blown for a reason. So be prepared to take the pump out while enjoying the spacious work area . Wash down pump has one function, any sort of piggybacking for a...

Professional Mariner protech 4 series battery charger

You should be able to look at the top of each of your batteries and see the two wires from the charger . If all you see is the two main cables then the charger is hooked up before or at the switch . I've always hooked them.up to the battery.

Where’s the gas gauge sending unit ?

If you have poked around and found the gas tank , the sending unit is on / in it . No access port ? Time to break out the saw or pay attention to your approx mileage and carry a extra fuel tank .

guage issues on 91 stingray 3.0 merc

My thoughts, could care less about the trim gauge , should adjust by the way it rides without looking at any gauge . Speedo , GPS on cell and mentally take note of RPMs to speed so you don't have to keep looking at your cell , more accurate than your tube .

What to do with old 2 stroke mix

Put it in your yard equipment or a gallon of so at a time into your car . Won't harm anything by running it in a 4 stroke engine .

What is your budget ? Are you slipping it or trailering ? Mostly fishing or kids and water sports as well ? Waters you plan on boating on ? Just a few things that may make it easier to make a suggestion on boats to look for and avoid .

1979 Renken Runabout Mercruiser 120 HP 4 Cylinder

Not that it matters since you passed on the boat , the hull ID you posted tells me it's a 1991 .

Pontoon boat faucet, how do they work?

Pump is pressure activated, stops when it hits xX lbs and when you open the faucet the pressure drops , pump turns on . Follow the water line from the sink to the source

    Bilge pump/ blower needed

So if I understand this correctly, you have one option. Buy a bilge pump and then a blower . Now wire them into a switch on the dashboard and plumb them in to the existing hoses . I was not aware that outboards on a boat require a blower ?

Water heater to engine. Previous owner cut and removed water heater hoses at stringer. See photos, where should they connect at engine?

The water pump on the engine has a " plug " in it that is removed and a ftg is put in it's place that has a barbed end for the heater hose to attach to . The other hose should attach to a port at the thermostat housing , that may have a " plug " in it where the barbed ftg would be .

    Cleaning gas tank?

There is no feasible way of cleaning a fuel tank while it is still in the boat . Doing it half assed in this case will result in you rebuilding the carb every other week, even with a few fuel filters which will constantly clog up .

    1988 HarborCraft?

I just Googled Harbor Craft boats , and all sorts of info came up , including a link to JD Powers , that has a breakdown of models . It includes length , beam and power options. I don't understand why in this day and age that isn't one of the first things you do when looking for info , instead...
