    question on rotten stringers

    would a vaccum advance be an advantage?

    I have a 1979 chris craft with a 350 cid engine and a conventional ignition with points and condenser. it does not have a vaccum advance. Would this be an advantage to have? by the way, this is a mercruiser

    Mine dosen't have one.. I have an old chris craft scorpion which I bought and rebuilt. seems to run fine but was mainly just curious as to why it dosen't have a vaccum advance...any help, thx
