    Which hull brands to avoid

I'd really review your thinking on Bayliner. I owned one, see my signature, which recently resurfaced on Craigslist this past year and looked darn near pristine - trailer needed work. They have come a long, long ways since the days they were parked outside your local K-Mart. Otherwise, I also...

Gheenoe - want to widen and lengthen

Last seen in 2014...probably on your own on this one. Only other member I could find was Oops! and he was last on in 2012. Link to that thread: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/hull-extension-in-progress-with-pics.231766/ Considering the blood, sweat, tears, lots of time (some have what...

    Tire size mismatch question

You know trailer tires should be replaced every 3-5 years right? They break down in the sun. You *might* get a year or two more than that but you're taking your chances at that point. My spare tire split in the treads, only sitting on the spare tire mount. That was the start of year 4. I...

    20hp Honda on Basstender 11.3

To get to that higher horsepower rating on your first boat, the manufacturer may have used different materials and/or strengthened the hull/transom to accept more power. The older boat probably doesn't have those design changes. So to answer the question, I wouldn't put double the recommended...

    Cheap Stereo Documentation Question

I was looking at the Rockford Fosgate PMX-3 to replace my hunk of junk radio. I currently have a Jensen MS3A which I do not recommend - pain to use, pain to synch to, pain to adjust, just an overall pain.

    2023 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

Bills made some progress I see. It normally takes them until the playoffs to choke under pressure. This time they did it in only a couple quarters..to a backup quarterback no less. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Cheap Stereo Documentation Question

I'd just replace it. In the grand scheme of things, my sanity (and having a better product) is worth more than figuring out a knock off radio. **My googling failed as well.

Attaching Rubber Fender List To Side Of Solar Cell Driven Catamaran

Nothing to lose. But if its been coiled up that long, chances are good it has a "memory" which you're not going to totally remove without some extreme measures.

    New Trailer - Weird Bunks

"Ramp" to bring the boat up on retrieval if needed. That way the bunk doesn't catch on a rivet/joint.

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

Mine's always dry. From the FourWinns (2 different marinas) to my current Chap (again, marina performed). Think the only, only time it had AF in it was when the marina graciously winterized the livewell. Probably call in a few weeks to schedule an appointment for winterize & shrink wrap.

1964 Cherokee boat decals does know how to find them

You needed to seal it afterwards with several very light coats of clear coat. Otherwise, the toner just sits on the surface, as you found out. Same goes for water slide decals. Vinyl sign shop should be able to help in both regards - Cherokee label and your capacity plate.

    Glastron contact details?

I'm not so sure Glastron is actually producing boats. All listings on their site say "Dealer Inventory only". There used to be quite a few Glaston dealers around me, there are all of (2) now with no stock. Going off memory, this is how Bryant went out of business.

    New Trailer - Weird Bunks

My uncle's 16' Starcraft tiller had that setup for a trailer. It was stock by TeeNee back in the day. Ahh the memories... **Pretty sure they were carpetted too. Might want to address that.

    P.S.A. . . . SAE J2807 Towing capacity spec's

Toyota tried that back in 2013 IF I recall correctly. That's when their 5.7L Tundras dropped from 10k towing to around 7k towing. I know, I owned one and questioned it at the time as to what the major change was. This was the answer - new standard. Toyota went away from that as my 2016 Tundra...

    Win for me today!

Looks like the backlash monster got it. I never could adjust mine correctly - it sits relegated to being a dust collector. Probably why it went overboard??

    1976 Columbia 16.

Nope. Total removal and replacement is required based off how much floor is already missing. I wager that rot goes front to back including transom. Boats rot from the hull up, not the top down. There isn't a shortcut on this one, sorry to say.

    1976 Columbia 16.

You're in denial. That's a total gut and rehab. The more you tear into it I bet you find the transom is doa as well. Wood putty is not the solution...a grinder, proper PPE, and a lot of sweat equity with BCX ply and resin (cloth) is. Head to the resto section, there's plenty of boats there...

    2017 19' Chaparral H2O leans right

Too new for someone to have to do a refurb on already and manufacturers are very unlikely to share that info with the general public. So probably next to nothing available for what's under the deck beyond more than likely foam flotation. If you are the original owner, there is a warranty. You...

    Bunk bracket suggestions

Use Grade 8 washers, done deal. If you're really worried about it, take it to a local welder and have them weld up the gap where needed. Probably cost a few beer tokens.

    Bunk bracket suggestions

Something like this? https://www.iboats.com/shop/bolster-brackets-tiedown-engineering-legacy-imf-1020323.html Varying lengths available through varying manufacturers. You may have to improvise and cut a bracket down to the size you need. A hacksaw will work if you don't have a grinder / cut...
