VP 5.0GXI-GF Needs Idle Air Control?

Is there a high pitched screech/noise at idle? If so, its your fuel pump going kaput. Brace for replacement cost - mine was 1k on same engine...that was years ago. There isn't a rebuild kit, the marina checked.

    Are plastic props junk?

I ran a Comprop composite prop for a bit on my Bayliner as I was boating in rock filled areas. I didn't notice any performance hits but will admit I ran it for roughly 1 season - the one season I had a Force outboard on my boat which the following season I repowered with the Honda. I still have...

Help! I need to know what I got!!! Lol

You should have received paperwork with the boat to transfer ownership to you or a parent/legal guardian. Depending on the state this may be a title for boat and trailer OR may be transferable registration. Either way, without the ability to register the boat in your name I wouldn't sink a...

Fuel Tank Venting in Stingray I/O

It *may* be integrated into the filler. It *may* be a separate fitting elsewhere on the boat. Without pics, difficult to determine.

    Bad Transom?

Looks like it backed into something. Whether it's soft or not is up for debate. My concern based on the photo would be the white plastic tube zip tied to something. I'm wagering that's to a bilge pump but why? Could be to keep up with whatever water is coming in but that's just a W.A.G.

    Chaparral Mercruiser Prop Question

Most props are stamped with the size/pitch and/or model number. May be in the exhaust, may be on the hub between blades. You're going to need to consistently test with 6 people on board. Adding to your passenger count can (and will depending on the situation) require a prop change and liberal...

    Towing a Chaparral 23 H2o Sport boat with a 4Runner that has a 5,000 pound tow rating

You didn't list batteries, safety gear, anchors, toys, trailer spare tire, whatnot. You're over your tow limit.

    TRAILER WANTED

Just so you're aware...this is not a buy/sell forum. We're giving you ideas on where to expand your search. You'll need to do the leg work to see who ships, what's in stock, etc. I'm in NY and within a 4 hour driving radius there are probably 100-200 marinas. More if I'm willing to deal with...

    TRAILER WANTED

Might I suggest calling around to other marina's then? Or check Craigslist. You might have to expand your search area to neighboring marinas in towns/cities/states away.

    American trailer mfg

Find out what your registering authority requires to register. Go in person. It may involve weight slips. It may involve a visit from the local police department. It may involve, as mentioned above, being issued a new VIN plate for you to attach to the trailer. Having paperwork for the...

    KIA Telluride for towing?

They're also required to take additional driver training to actually learn how to tow properly....if I recall correctly. Here driver training is...we don't teach you that, go learn on your own. Honest to God answer from my driving instructor cause I asked. And it shows as I saw a guy towing a...

    KIA Telluride for towing?

Yep our Durango is a base model AWD V6 w/tow package - 6200lbs. Ours stickered new at 38k. Another option may be the Nissan Pathfinder AWD V6. Tows 6k. There are others out there, just gotta do some research.

    Four Winns hull strength

You're being paranoid. It'll hold up to a lot. I keep my anchor and rope in a kitty litter pail stuffed in the front console. Easy to reach and deploy, doesn't bounce around otherwise. Problems will only come up once the structure is rotted but your boat shouldn't have any wood in it. Four...

Flex Seal on a Leaky Aluminum Boat?

Usually glove-it or coat-it is used as Flex seal...well....has a bunch of marketing hype but not a lot of good results long term.

    1973 Starcraft SS 18 I/O

You're not all that deep into this boat $$$ wise. If you like it, I'd be tempted to look at a rebuild for the motor. Got any good engine builders who have marine knowledge?

Are Force OBs as good as others?

Unfortunately I do. Having owned a 99 Force that wouldn't start half the time and fouled plugs routinely. Had very, very low hours on it. Came with my Bayliner. It lasted all of (1) season before I repowered. Again, shear utter junk you could not pay me enough to take.

    Bimini install measurements?

Got a pic of the bimini stretched out? Might get a better response that way so we can see what you're working with.

    Best carpet for trailer bunks

I used plain old staples when re-doing my bunks. That and indoor/outdoor carpet from Value Home Center. That's how FourWinns did it originally - staples, no adhesive.

    Bimini install measurements?

You have a main hoop that's pipe, a set of rear supports that are also pipe, then straps in the front to get everything nice and taunt correct? If so, I'd set it up so that the straps attach to hoops on the bow and not the windshield. I have this thing about drilling into a windshield...

    KIA Telluride for towing?

I owned and towed with a '17 4Runner SR5 Premium 4x4. Had the 4.0L V6. It did fine with my Chap. Not a speed demon and not that great (compared to others in segment) in non-towing gas mileage....I got around 19mpg combined. Should check out the new Durango with tow package. It has 6200 towing...
