    I added an extra bow eye when I redid my boat. One for tie down strap, and one for winch strap. Makes it easier to launch and load. Remove tie down strap, attach bow line for launching, then release winch.

    And do NOT leave it unattended. Those muffs can vibrate off and your motor will overheat in no time at all. IF I use muffs, I secure them with duct tape.

    Aww jimmbo, no fun. Yes Venomous Duck, there is no removable head. You would have to cut it off, I mean in half. You have to split the case open to access the innards. And yes, #6 is often the first to go.

    DO Not remove the head from that engine. In most cases, removing the head will make it useless, never to run again. I doubt you will find a head gasket for that motor as well, but, I've been wrong before.

    You're asking a lot from a 55# troller. The answer is ...maybe..? I could get 3.1 mph out of a 65# 24v motor, but the boat was only about 300#, 75# fully rigged. You will be really slow going into a wind.

    2 Yellow wires from stator connect to rectifier. they are interchangeable.

    Weak battery. Dirty connections on starter, solenoid, ground wire. Weak starter, needs a cleaning or rebuild. Try starting by placing jumper cables on battery and connecting directly to the starter.

    With many motors, you need to throttle up to get them to start. Push in the button, push throttle forward, start engine, pull throttle back.
