    I rebuilt the carb. It was flooding at idle. I had the idle screw set wrong. Needle and seat leaked. And the choke literally fell off. I put in a brass float, new needle and seat solid type. Reset it all. loctite on the choke housing screws so they dont fall out. Purrs like a kitten. Idled 400...

    LOL mine is the same way but with 40. 39.89 by gps was as close as she ever got. But she is dependable and will got anywhere.

    No it is a 3 blade ss prop. My boat dont like 4 blade props. If your at speed the boat just lays on its side and goes straight if you try to turn. You got to get off the throttle and slow to turn.

    I got a piece of regular old ext ply. Covered in glass in the back yard. From when I restored my boat. It is a test dummy. All these years it is just fine. Just do a good job you be fine no matter what you use.

    Just FYI stuff. Yamaha props fit Mercruiser sterndrives if you use the mercruiser hub kit. I just put on a turbo1 20 pitch.

    Congrats. I was doing that today. Now my son has his licence I sit in the bow. I went early this morning nice and cool. Skies looked like where you are. It just gets better the longer you do it.

    I agree. I got a bow rider and it added untold extra work. I am not sorry I did it that way but it was a ton of work. Laying upside down with a grinder in your face. Oh the memories.

    Throw some lucas injector cleaner in the gas. Clean her out while she runs.

    I used rustoleum ext paint no hardener. Looks the same as when I did it years ago.

    This year is strange for the heat. My boat been sitting for the same reason. It is even hot as H@ll when it is raining.

    Oh yea cut scraps up into peices. Then if you are done with a strings and got resin. Use the peices to do odd spots like where the stringer meets the transom and tank box etc. Really limits the waste and saves money.

    I cut the holes. Slight incline. Did not tab in the deck. Poured. When full put the plug in set a brick on it. As long as it has a place to run to and escape there is no pressre to speak of under the deck. Once it is full there is the magic zone it is soft enough to cut. Once hardened I wire...
