Craigslist /marketplace or junkyard for donor motor?

Nope.. At the yard I go to, they bring a wheel loader and can lift very high in the air.. plucks them right out. If you can use a cordless saws all to cut the rad support, it will slide right out the front

Craigslist /marketplace or junkyard for donor motor?

Done it many times. What I would do is pull the engine/ trans as one unit. The trans crossmember will un bolt, and then pull the whole thing up and out.. Cut the core support/ remove radiator if you can... Once it's out and on the ground, just zip the bell housing bolts off and slide it apart...

    Suzuki DF25A prop

I ordered the 11x9 Solas Amita while it was on sale. Pretty sure it's as close as I'm going to get without having a custom prop built or something.. This should slow my idle/ troll speed down as well. With the standard prop, I get 2.9 MPH. I'm hoping to get that around 1.8-1.9 I thought about...

Any body ever here of this Co.?

Proceed with caution. They list locations in Oklahoma, South Africa and Turkey but with only one phone number that is not USA based.. Prices are way too cheap. It could be legit if they are selling motors that would be considered grey market in the USA ( lacking EPA cert ) but are sold at a...

    Suzuki DF25A prop

Forgot to mention, that my speed at idle seems to be 2.9 Mph ( GPS ). If I get the prop that allows for a little more slip, would that get me down to 1.9 MPH for trolling? Or should I just plan on trolling bags? There isn't much available with less than 11 pitch. Solas has an 11"x9" Amita...

    1970 AristoCraft Restoration

Points switch the ground, you should always read at least 6v at the coil but really should be closer to 9v while running, in general... Take a jumper wire directly from the battery to the positive side of the coil and see if it will generate spark.

1987 Merc 4.3 Rebuild or replace?

The Full size Chevy trucks used the 4.3L as well. Many 2wd work trucks and even 4wd trucks had them.. To get something that is as near bolt in and go as you can, find one in a similar year to your boat and use it. Just swap core plugs and head gaskets for marine versions. Will cost you $100...

    Suzuki DF25A prop

Had my Holiday 14 OB out today in a light chop, not bad. 1st time with the brand new DF25A and it's standard prop ( 10 1/4"x11 ). I got right at 25mph without touching the trim, which made me happy. My RD-28 Johnson 40hp did about that, just with a better hole shot.. However I noticed that I was...

    19?? Starcraft Jetstar

I do have to figure out my prop. I'm not getting quite 5,500 RPM without any trim, and it should be at 6,000 RPM. I didn't do extensive testing, just brought it up on plane, waited a few seconds, checked speed and then backed down to cruise, in accordance with break in procedures.. I suspect...

Boatinfo used flash as part of their copyright security.. With Flash discontinued, what is the point.

    19?? Starcraft Jetstar

Well, the motor is perfect, silent at all rpms. It doesn't have the low end of the 40hp, but it does 25mph. Takes a little more to get it on plane, but it cruises at 15ish mph. I didn't bother with the trim much since I kind of forgot it was there

    Unknown outboard motor

I don't recognize it, and the picture is a little too up close perhaps.. Looks air cooled to me, It might be an Eska or other that use a Techumseh/ Power Products power head but a picture of the whole thing would be better

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

This is what I came up with. Not perfect but it's pretty nice for what it is. The button is the horn button. I left room to space for a matching volt meter although, that is over redundant. Both the stereo and the GPS fishfinder ( Striker 4 ) will display voltage.. My cell phone has decided...

    SEI outdrive question

5.0L would get a 1.62 or a 1.47 from Mercruiser, but the tipping point was 200hp or over.. I would agree that a 1.62 would work better. You can run a higher pitched prop, rather than a prop with more slip

Starcraft 60s era Holiday bare bones weight

The model number plate should be on starboard side near the helm and will have the HP rating. Sure looks like a Holiday 18.. The weight is without outboard as that is variable. Max on that hull is 120hp. You won't need that for a fishing boat, but within 70% of that would be workable

1967 MFG Sprint. Steering cable Help

I don't think his motor has a tilt tube, and would probably have an external tilt tube adapter to use the single cable steering, before it was commonplace. Uflex makes a transom mount steering tube for this purpose as far as I can tell, which costs about $110 and the part number is S39
