    1980 Chrysler Sea King 15 Overheating/Waterpump Concerns

Looks like it runs good. I'd get the heat gun before there's any damage?? It has water/exhaust coming from the back: Normal What did the old impeller look like when you removed it? Missing any vanes/blades?

    1980 Chrysler Sea King 15 Overheating/Waterpump Concerns

No thermostat: you should be able to touch the head without burning yourself. The area around the plug and the plug will get hot enough to burn, be careful. Might be the cooling passages are blocked? the heat gun will help show that. The pic shows a thermo from a 40 that had the passages almost...

    Water in Fuel Starting Issues

Depending on the filter?? pull it and dump it into a clear glass jar, check for water. You can add all the gas you want and if there's water in there it's gonna be the first thing drawn from the tank. Heet, only treats a very small amount of water. It doesn't remove it just makes it easier to...

Another Guy With Force 120 Issue

One of the best, cheapest tools in my tool box is a 16$ temp gun. It can show where the hot spots are and IF??? the motors really getting hot.

    1980 Chrysler Sea King 15 Overheating/Waterpump Concerns

If the head gets so hot the water steams??? then somethings too hot?? The video shows the motor pumping out the back holes on the mid section. Get a heat gun, Harbor Freight usually under 25$ I don't think they put a thermostat in the smaller motors.

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

Right from Wiseco. The Wiseco rings won't fit the regular pistons.

Thermo. Is it any good?? Test it? Pan of water on the stove, turn the heat up and watch the thermo to see if it opens like it should? It's not in backwards? don't think it can?

    1984 Chrysler Force 125 (1258x4a) no spark/weak spark on #3&4 cylinders

outboardignitiondotcom has test procedures for your motor. Try swapping the packs around and see if the spark changes to the other plugs? The stator can test good but still be bad :(

Spark plug UL77V on 87' Force 85hp OB

87 force 125hp high speed studder

    92 70hp force vin

The sticker is the only place. If the boat, motor was sold as a package? The manufacturer has records of what motor was on the boat when sold??? If not felt tip pen and make a new one and take pics cause the new marker will wear off.

70s force 70... No reaction from key

1969 70hp. You need the switch with the push for choke. Sometimes WD40 sprayed into the switch can revive the old switch, spray activate , spray and repeat. Starter is grounded through the 2 bolts holding it in place? Pic of the wire in question? When taking pics, get closer.

Possible: the new impeller isn't spinning with the shaft? The brass insert breaks loose and spins but the impeller doesn't send water to the block?? The key in the impeller moved? The old impeller when removed were all the vanes still intact?

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

If they say .010 will work? then but a .010 piston and they can do the work. Where are you buying pistons? Every one I've ever done has needed a .020 over piston, even when the scoring didn't seem that bad?? Wiseco pistons is a bit more expensive(most cases) and easier to work with. Your piston...

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

The shop manual has the bore size. The shop should be able to tell if the scoring can be cleaned up by a .020 or .010 bore. Then you buy the oversized piston. This is my opinion: I wouldn't spend $ on that motor. It's one of the worst Force ever made. My opinion.

Another Guy With Force 120 Issue

The pressure from the hose isn't strong enough to push water past the pump and up to the head/thermo. Hook the hose to the tube and turn it on, shouldn't need that much pressure to make water come up to the thermo. If it overheated almost immediately?? then maybe the sending unit is grounded...

70s force 70... No reaction from key

Click?? that means somethings getting power, but what? Test light and maybe a helper. Test light at the starter solenoid, have someone it the key and see where the light lights up?? On the solenoid, there's a yellow//red wire test there when turning the key. The light light up? then test at the...

1998 Force 90hp 2 stroke is it bad?

Transom. Tilt the motor up, then try pushing it up and down and see if the transom moves. Just you pushing up and down shouldn't move the motor.
