    The roller is right between the 2 vertical white lines at idle. The roller wheel leaves the cam at about 3/4 of throttle position. Starts instantly. 1/10 of a second crank every time. It does not need any choking in summer mornings.

    When we get a sunny day again. I want to replace the main motor plug and socket. I inspected the metals. They are the split pin type .I can not see any pins that are not discolored. So I will go to the butt splices that do seal against moisture. Since I stay in very strong cellphone areas...

    Evinrude 1986 28 SPL. Really a 30 hp with no power tilt or trim. I retired 20 years ago. It has run every morning and afternoon and some evenings. Weather permitting. May 21 to September 21. I want it to be buried with me.

    And now the saga continues. I push the throttle forward and it continues to just idle . The spring clip has disappeared from the flex cable connector at the motor. Have 2 spares.

    More luck on the engine. It was the ignition timing generator. Spare was the last spare part for the 1986 engine. Luck beats skill every time. :)

    Lesson to be learned about boats being ............Winterized.........or even a oil change ? Believe no one about the work they were paid to do. Always check if done. I put a black Magic Marker on parts to be changed. Person needing a job at below minimum wages. And they have no abilities ?????

    THe super heavies require 2 mechanical guys with 2 lines around the starter. Then the strong guy can SAFELY and easily slide it off and the new one on .I always remove wires first. Put on last. They can be difficult sometimes.

    Do it the super safe and easy way. Remove both battery cables . Make sure they can not touch battery posts. Remove the TOP starter motor nut or bolt. If a bolt ? take it to a hardware store and buy 1 bolt that is same diameter and thread size. Make sure it is about 1 inch longer. Cut the head...

    No spark. Should be the still original Man Overboard Switch. Friend towed me to the dock area. I rowed into the slip space. Plenty of old guys to have fun with as they helped me tie up. Wife took me out for lunch. I have finally mellowed. :)

    I was going to use Rust-Oleum Topside Paint, but then I accidentally discovered COMET cleaner..

    My 2002 Chaparral has had LOADS of bleach on the white plastic seats & the stitching being synthetic also. No damages. Completely removes spider poop stains on sunny days.
