Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

Ok can you talk me through the timing procedure on this motor? I just fired it up as is to make sure everything is good to go. She sounds good. One other question.... When I shut off the motor a stream of water kept coming out of the exhaust. Is that just the water pressure spinning the impeller...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

ok so I fired her up after the carb install and she lit up nicely. When I back off the throttle she idles at 600 rpms which seems a little low. Runs a little lumpy but stays running. What are the next steps? just adjust the idle up to 650 or so? I want it as dialed in as I can before it gets put...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

ok so I have the new 1409 carb bolted on. The way the avs2 carb was set up in neutral, the throttle cable doesn't match up so I adjusted the cable end to match the new carb. Is this the proper procedure? Just asking before I fire her up on the fake a lake

how to set up 1998 Ski Ray tournament inboard for wakeboarding

It's a direct drive inboard tournament boat and rare at that. It was very faint when I was under there yesterday but doing research a 13"x13" pitch is pretty popular for skiing and wakeboarding. I'll take a better look but here's a pic of the boat for reference

how to set up 1998 Ski Ray tournament inboard for wakeboarding

so looks like I have a 13x13 prop? Does that make sense? Also this boat doesn't have an accessible ski locker. i've heard liek 2 750 lb bags in the rear and wake shaper and I'll have a surfable wave. Doing a carb swap now and then I'll be getting to the fun stuff soon hopefully

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

Yes that will be the test when I get her in the water under load and no I don't want to go to wot in reverse unless I want a submarine. Without the wedge I'm more concerned with how it will perform out of the hole with a wakeboarder or skier on the back

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

this was my answer back yesterday but it didn't go through for some reason, "Ok I took a look it's a spread bore intake and that small spacer is the adapter to square bore. " So I think i'll try it with my the conversion spacer and see how she runs. The wedge is a discontinued item but I may...

    pulsating sound in stereo system

Ok sounds i tested all interior speakers and tower speakers. They all work off the deck. So the amp was cooked. The jackass wired all 4 of the tower speakers through one wire and into the amp and then jammed the rest of the speakers into 2 channels. Meaning 10 speakers into 2.l channels while...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

So even the small aluminum one that directs flow forward is worse than having no wedge and just a straight carb on there? Definitely know the guy is a hack. You should or shouldn't see the stereo wiring I'm sorting out as well

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

Ok check these pics out. These aren't open spacers. They're both aluminum. Both have 4 holes not just an open plenum and it looks like the small spacer actually directs fuel to the two front barrels. Maybe I can just use the small aluminum one instead of worrying about the wedge as it directs...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

I saw the wedges on there. I've read online that a 12 degree wedge is the way to go. They are crazy expensive. Like $300usd or $15cad for a piece of aluminum. I found a 5 degree one locally for $100 but not sure that would do the trick. I'd like to know what degree the stock one (Mercury...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

The monstrous exhaust thingy is a muffler dual into single exhaust out the back. Not sure why they designed it for a single exhaust. As far as the spacers being taken off I'll have to find the stock size carb mounting studs. Also I am a little concerned about not having the stock wedge spacer...

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

sounds good. Hopefully I don't need to re jet as everyone so far has said it's as close to a bolt on as you can get. I may get to it after work tonight depending on the weather

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

Thanks for the info so far, it has a mechanical fuel pump with the yellow fuel line that should be connected to the carb nipple. The PO just had the open yellow line laying on the intake which is insane.

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

Hi there, I recently bought a Sea Ray Ski Ray tournament inboard ski boat that came with an automotive carb that was too big (800cfm). I bought a brand new edelbrock 1409 carb for it. I want this thing purring and trouble free for the summer. I plan to ski, wakeboard and surf my boys this...

    pulsating sound in stereo system

yeah, looks like it was wired by the Prince of Darkness. I am going to hook up each speaker to the deck individually, towers included to see what comes out and report back. May be a few days before I get back to it as I'm putting a new carb on the motor
