What is Best H20 Flusher for 280 out drive!

Re: What is Best H20 Flusher for 280 out drive! The filler nozzel from the RTV Silicone makes a great plug for the bottom drain. I always use duct tape to make sure the muffs fit tight. The drive needs to be dry if using tape.

Force 120 with low compression seeking advice

Re: Force 120 with low compression seeking advice Bad reeds won't have an effect on the compression. The head gasket and rings provide a seal that makes compression. The reeds just stop the fuel from being pushed back out the way it came in. From the shape of the dome, I'd guess that the rings...

98 Force 40hp Hard to Start and Intermitten Hesitation at WOT

Re: 98 Force 40hp Hard to Start and Intermitten Hesitation at WOT Follow the gas line in.It should go to the pump. Take the pump apart and check the diaphragm. If the ball is getting hard, the pump is probably ok. Won't hurt to look. #13 is the primer. The diaphragm is inside the primer and...

Adding tilt and trim to a 1989 Force 50hp.

Re: Adding tilt and trim to a 1989 Force 50hp. Welcome. The T+T unit is gonna be hard to find. The stuff for a 50 is smaller than one for an 85/125 The pump is the same. The trim cylinder and trim ram are different. I think the transom brackets you have are the right ones. The tilt lock and...

    1991 force 70 HP - overheating

Re: 1991 force 70 HP - overheating Thermo is located at the top on the head above the spark plugs. The funny shaped rectangular box. The thermo wouldn't have anything to do with the lower unit getting hot. The exhaust passes through it and exits through the prop. Have you had this motor since...

1991 force 120 decelerates after hitting top speed

Re: 1991 force 120 decelerates after hitting top speed Gas leaking from the carb is usually the needle and seat or the float level. If the float drop isin't enough you'll run out of gas. In the carb. There is a long skinny tube is it still in place or did it come loose? You have a manual for...

It still has spark only on the port bank. The other side is pretty much dead. I have a PRVM (peak reading volt meter)and will try some more tests...

    1971 Glastron v156 w/1987 Force 85hp - Value?

Re: 1971 Glastron v156 w/1987 Force 85hp - Value? The "book" is way off on Force outboards. You are gonna pay more than it suggests. The boat's old and it's a tri-hull. I don't mind them, most don't like them. What you can expect is what someone is willing to pay??? I paid $1500 for my...

    water pump 35 hp

Re: water pump 35 hp Most water will exit through the snout on the lower unit. The 50/35/25 needs a special muff. The ones used on the bigger motors work, but can actually cause it to overheat. You should get some water out the mid section. Maybe just a mist or even steam?
