Re: 1973 45hp Chrysler went through another impeller ??? You need at least 4 inches above the line where the lower and the upper meet. The older 35-60's and some others need a special muff. If you don't have a big bucket. Now that youv'e burned up the impeller ,you need to check the tube going...

    91 Force 120 L-Drive w/ Merc Gearcase - Prop and Gearcase Separation

Re: 91 Force 120 L-Drive w/ Merc Gearcase - Prop and Gearcase Separation More prop shots. This is the way a Force prop should fit into the housing. No rubbing and no gaps. Force props are available. The Mercury props just won't fit right.

    91 Force 120 L-Drive w/ Merc Gearcase - Prop and Gearcase Separation

Re: 91 Force 120 L-Drive w/ Merc Gearcase - Prop and Gearcase Separation What do you mean hard?? It shouldn't rub anywhere. That's still a Mercury prop.Compare the ones in the photo. The one you have on will probably work just not as good as the factory. What happened to your old one? Will...

    Idle

Re: Idle See pic.Idle is adjusted with #4/5 If you adjusted the cam?? Do the linc and sinc.First or second post in the Force section. That sets up the linkage for proper operation. The set up is pretty easy. If the roller and mark on the cam don't line up the high idle won't work right. Tying...

    Lower unit oil change question

Re: Lower unit oil change question Rip,You should start your own thread. The pivot screw is a slotted screw on the lower unit that holds the shift mechanisim in place. If it's removed you might have to disasemble the whole unit to put it back together right. See pic.First is the fill/vent...

    '94 Force 50 Idle adjustment

Re: '94 Force 50 Idle adjustment On the stbd.side is a part called the towershaft.Bottom of the shaft is a screw and a nut to lock it in place. That's where you adjust the idle. You have to make sure the throttle cam and roller align and touch. The mark on the cam should just touch the roller.

Force 50HP and NO one can tell me whats wrong

Re: Force 50HP and NO one can tell me whats wrong If the starter is new? I'd still try to take it apart. It's possible the magnets came loose or just from trying to start the brushes go bad. The armature could get shorted out. The compression since it's low on both cylinders, it shouldn't be...

Re: Eureka! But now I need help finding a part number and source for this carb part. (Eccentric does not mean bent. It means deviating from circular, or being elliptical. The axis of the threaded shaft should be parallel to the axis of the roller shaft.) Clearly made that way!!! One more...
