    Push the small lever up just until you feel friction. Push key in while starting. Be prepared to push the small lever down if it starts and takes off. May be some trial and error to find the right setting. If the small lever is up you should not be able to shift.

    it looks like an 83 model. look on the transom bracket for a tag. Otherwise look on the powerhead near the head for a silver disc with #s on it

    Could be the bolt is to long for the torque tab. Threads in the torque tab are junk. Needs to be fixed.

    why would you blast it? nothing but a light sanding should be needed. You will not find a better paint than the factory.

    What do you mean you use the red lever to prime the carbs? That primer with the red lever Bypasses the carb. I would replace your fuel ball.

    The 35 hp of that motor was a powerhead rated engine it was later changed to 30 hp at the prop.. Get a carb off of a 28/30/35 hp motor
