    LiFePO Batteries ???

3 months ago I bought a small 50A LiTime battery to power my trailer's electric over hydraulic brakes when I tow it with my Rivian. My Rivian can't supply enough current so I just use the battery in the bed to power the brakes during the short drive between the storage place and the launch ramp...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You are talking about an external BMS system. The internal BMS in these batteries have a standby current of 1mA.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

How much current can it put out? I wouldn't go over 50% to a DC to DC converter. Probably should start a new thread though. What starter battery do you own?

    LiFePO Batteries ???

The BMS did its job..it turned off the battery when either the total voltage went below a limit or one of the cells went below the limit. The problem is, the cells keep self discharging even after the BMS turns off so the cells continued to self discharge over winter until they got to a point...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Here are the 140AH battery specs

    LiFePO Batteries ???

That won't do it. One or more cells are toast from over discharge.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I went on there...there is no mention at all of 2C charging. It does however say the BMS can handle 100A but they recommend 20A.

Show the link where it says that.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You can’t charge at 2C. The BMS doesn’t allow it!

    LiFePO Batteries ???

LOL...The people you talked to didn't make the battery. They hired a supplier in China and plastered their name on it. Believe it or not, charging a LiFePO4 battery is not rocket science. You charge at a bulk rate(constant current) until it hits and absorption voltage(typically around 14.2V)...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Actually, a thin cable would be the best...it would limit the current. You are just trying to hit it with a high enough voltage to trigger the BMS. Your biggest issue is if its a really low cell that is causing the issue. If it is, you may not be able to recover. I helped a friend of a friend...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

LOL...A123 batteries are still LiFePO4 battery cells and they are the EXACT same chemistry as all LiFePO4 batteries!

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I do store mine at that level but if you don't, might get 2,000 cycles instead of 3,000 cycles. On the Rivian, in the lower range models that use LiFePO4, Rivian suggests keeping them at 100% so they don't get out of balance. You have a manual form Timeusb that shows they recommend a certain...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I have a Victron IP65 charger that has a power supply mode that would be perfect. Also. all you really have to do is get a regular lead acid battery and some jumper cables and you can do the same thing. Just be aware that once the batteries wake up, the amount of current may be high so be...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

All these batteries are LiFePO4. If they were a different chemistry, the voltage would be WAY different and would not work where a substitute for a 12V battery is used. Not sure where you heard that the batteries have to be discharged to 50% or 60% of capacity. That's just a recommended storage...

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

That has to be a mistake...20 lbft is what I use. I use this procedure: 1) While rotating the wheel clockwise, tighten to 20lb.ft. 2) loosen the nut and then finger tight. 3) insert cotter pin or keeper without tightening the nut. If anything, back off slightly to make cotter pin/keeper fit.

    Batteries for 21ft CC

Good that you didn't buy the LiTime or Power Queen. Those are lithium batteries and lithium batteries can not be used to start engines.

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

When you say you have greased the axle bearings, hopefully, that means you have taken the hubs off removed the bearings, inspected them, and hand packed them.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

For weeks I would not be concerned. Just don't charge them up right away until you are going to use it again. Typically, the only thing that would happen is that you might only get 2000 charge cycles vs 3000 charge cycles...probably more than you would do in your lifetime anyway.
