Did I knock lower unit out of neutral during water pump service?????

Tilted the motor up 3/4 tilt. Made a ratcheting hoist around the lower and dropped the lower just enough to reach the shift stem as it exited the shift receptical in the upper. I was able to find the midpoint on the shifter with a small locking pliers on the shift stem and ratcheted the lower...

2850 Bayliner B command Bridge question

If you are planning on getting the boat going for your own use ,then as long as the motors and drives are good ,go for it!!! If you are thinking of fixing and flipping it, then its a very bad idea. The OMC drives were crap, expensive to have repaired and parts availability could be a problem.The...

2000 200HP Saltwater series 2 stroke. Pulled lower unit to service water pump. after completing the water pump change, reinstalled the lower unit with a little jiggling. When I reinstalled the prop I noticed that the prop shaft was locked in both directions. I dont remember this being the case...

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

The gage should be fine as the large numbers are not psi.the psi numbers are much harder to see in the pic but go up to 100psi.If I pump up to 15 and leave overnight,I should be able to see a leak or not.Right?? Charlie

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

I'm not accustomed to making tools or gages.Saw a YouTube video that made it look pretty simple using a brake bleeder..Im thinking I can use this compresser hose with gage that came with a high end model vehicle from approx 40 years ago.The vehicle had a built in compresser.Never used it ,been...

What does this marking mean on this new to me outdrive?

Popped the top and all looked nice, clean and well lubed. There was a small red marking somewhere in there.Didnt count the teeth or look closely for any markings.Based on the effort to get the bolts out I would say the cap has never been removed.Charlie

What does this marking mean on this new to me outdrive?

Upon much closer examination,I found the exact markings in 3 other places on the drive and the prop had marker written "test prop" on it. Drained the gear oil which didn't look bad and was dark green so I assume it was the high performance type however it did not appear to have drained a full...

Just bought and new to boating..dont know what i have here..cant find the specs or anything like it on the net...please help

Not sure what info you are looking for besides the obvious. You bought a decent (at best) little runabout made of lightweight Aluminum, riveted(which tend to leak/seep) .From the pic looks to be in nice condition.Very lightweight boat so that little motor should push it fine.Trailer looks to be in...
