Maybe my turn for new boat time

Just had a look through that video. Paused and took a screen shot. Put some wee yellow circles around the manual bleed vent valves. I think depending on where the reservoir is and the chance of it fighting against the other perhaps, there might be a chance of you maybe having to manually give it...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

There are manual bleeding valves on that too AD. Almost certain of it. Sometimes all of the air doesn’t self bleed back to tank and it’s required. Only ever seen one system like this and never worked on one, but I’m almost sure of that much. Have a look at the hydraulic cylinder block itself...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Did you get anything with it at all AD ? Like a Bleed kit that loops out across the two vent/bleed valves ?

Recommended oil for 05 Volvo Penta 5.0gxi e

Any 15w40 would likely do. But perhaps the preference might be a marine designed version. There is a specified range of oils you could use in the manual. Funnily enough, the identical engine in mercury form states 25w40 (because they happen to have a quicksilver brand for sale). I use rock oil...

    1993 mariner od160931

Sorry…didn’t mean to come across as doubting you. More just trying to confirm the year…in case she was a few years earleir and might have been a Yamaha engine. Yeah…that’s a mercury engine. 6 and 8hp both almost identical apart from carb basically. Not a common engine that. The mercury manual...

Yamaha 15 hp 4 stroke primer start

You’ll get a back pressure on the exhaust, the deeper into the water you go. Set up the idle speed when she’s warmed up and in gear at idle. You’ll be good there after. Just as long as there aren’t other issues like a carb clean required. Setting things up when the carb is in doubt…just means...

Any pics of the actual engine ? How sore are you about it being a 1993 ?

Maybe my turn for new boat time

You any pics of the steering set up at the engines AD ? Show me the rig there, the size of the supply pipes and the pump at the helm hub. Did they supply you with the bleed and fill kit it would have came with originally?

Fuel water separator and fuel filter on 3L

Good point there. Is that for safety regs you guys have from US coastguard?

80's Bayliner fuel gauge/sender ohm range?

Can’t remember just precisely. But the US spec is something like 230ish ohms empty and all the way down to 30 or 40 ohms full. EU is about 0-190/200 ohms empty to full. Double check the exact figures if you need to..but it’s about that anyway, I’m sure. Check the continuity between the wire ends...

    1976 mercury 40hp flywheel question

Doesn’t look good there. Is there a damper on that at all ? I’d disable the ignition and take the plugs out…then put it in gear..have someone turn the prop shaft whilst you check up there. See if any backlash is taken up some or otherwise
  12. Q

80's Bayliner fuel gauge/sender ohm range?

There are two variations. Eu range and us range. Each are almost the opposite scale from each other. But if it’s reading halfway when full..it’s more likely I’d be thinking about the condition of the wiring and its continuity ability or its terminals. Or perhaps also likely that the actual...

    Anti-freeze Question . . . Change of Color ???

Hi. Is at all possible that or you have a mixer valve (like on a shower where cold and hot mix to get you the right temperature out the shower head), causing such a thing ? If it’s left at a temperature regulating position, it could then get mixed with the cold water supply before finding its...

Sx gear oil change shouldn’t be this hard

Biggest thickest flat head you can find…lock it hard into the slot with your inner knee..use a shifting spanner on the screwdriver flat (or better stil..if you get a screwdriver with a hex on it to get a spanner on properly)…she will loosen fine.

Fuel water separator and fuel filter on 3L

They do. There is even a mercury part number for the racor water separating filter. Apart from that…I’m certain further on it…just because I have one fitted 😂. It even has the option to plug in and connect to the alarm system on smart craft monitoring…or an alarm in general. Great bit of kit. As...

Mercruiser 5.7L engine with a 1.84 outdrive. Prop suggestions.

You might be on the verge of being close to the top end of the off the shelf available prop pitching. Be close anyway. Be at least a 23” you’ll need or more perhaps. Just roughly…if she can be estimated to achieve early to mid 50’s gps…at say 4800 rpm..say about 10% slip…you’ll be at 25” of...

MPI fogging mixture vs fuel return

Exactly what I do. Run it low on last outing then add a Jerry can of mix to the tank. Just enough to get to the slipway and make sure enough ram through to smell it out the back. Also means that the tcw3 in the tank helps keep things decent in there too, with the additives a good product usually has

Best prop size and pitch 00 regal 2100 LSR

Any sign of it hitting an rpm limiter about those rpms ? If it is…you could go more pitch. If it isn’t…it’s not bad at that.

Best prop size and pitch 00 regal 2100 LSR

any idea of the gear ratio ? Sounds like you might be around the 1.6-1 mark. Be good to confirm what it says on the outdrive

    yamaha 2013 waverunner

Hi. Can’t see the videos. But thought I’d ask about a very common issue seen on these. Quite often it’s the case where there ends up too much oil in the engine. Just because some may be confused by the way the oil should be dipped. There is an oil collection tank that has the cap and dip stick...
