    '89 Arriva 2050 Restoration

On my 84, I ended up using a carbide carving disc as it seemed most efficient for grinding. One of these: It worked well but you still had to hit some areas with a flap disc... IE didnt fit. 36 grit and down if you can find them, work better imo. Just a comparison between the two, the metal...

Voting for 2024 Splash of the Year!

Thanks again everyone. Just wanted to share how much I appreciate it. And a special thanks to @Zyen who's restoration I had followed since, and this is going to maybe make me sound like kind of a jerk but anyway, Highschool. This project has been scheming in my brain since 2010 or so but a few...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

For today, I started by being a little weenie. It's around 90 out and the boat was in direct sun most of the morning. So I tossed my portable A/C unit in the boat and had it blowing moderately drier air in the cabin. Made it workable. Next I got up half of the headliner before some savage...

So, my 2025 Bayliner VR5 200 hp 4.5L mercruiser STILL barely pulls me up

It really seems like the ECM is pulling power based on your two runs. I mean no offense by this, but it isn't exactly a heavy or large boat. Your numbers on that second pull are in line with what the boat tests at with a 19 pitch propeller.... I really think something is up. For comparisons...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Been a minute since my last update... so here it goes. This is what I've been working on the last few days. Pulled the trim cushions out of the shed to finish them up first. Next I cut a hole into my new fiberglass work. One of the most painful things I've done this whole project.... Then...

Prop Advice: Rev4 XP on 383 Stroker

Fun story, I have the "next step up" in comps marine series and that 5800 rpm peak is bang on on my dyno sheet. Pulls about 200 rpm past it. I'd say 5500 is probably about right for being a little beyond the power peak. I think your target of 5000 rpm is safe then and you are lugging it with the...

Prop Advice: Rev4 XP on 383 Stroker

Couple of things... First do you know for sure the tachometer is accurate? 15% slip at WOT for a 4 blade seems kind of high. Second, what are the cam specs? That is going to dictate to an extent where your WOT RPM should be. Ideally a dyno would tell you exactly where it is but if you're not...

My boat needs to run real good on the 4th of July. FIX IT !!

Sunday breakfast is before 9 if I go out. (Nice and quiet) when I am at work, you can actually watch system demand tick up around 8 and 10... about when people would get ready for mass and when it ends. Coincidentally that is the same time I get the absolute most irate of customer calls.

My boat needs to run real good on the 4th of July. FIX IT !!

With the way people drive around here, hell no... sadly. Last time I went out on a holiday was about 5 years ago and the river was sustained washing machine from idiots. I'd have to try but I could've capsized a 21' on that day. The average bloke wouldn't have had to try. Actually every year it...

My boat needs to run real good on the 4th of July. FIX IT !!

The 4th is one of 3 days of the year, no matter how nice out it is, that the boats stay at the house/dock.

    UUUUGGGHHH

If I could keep my house at 68 year round I would. Very difficult in the summer. The Air BNB we stayed at was regulated to 75 and I woke up in a pool (looked like I wet the bed) of sweat. That was sleeping with no cover too. My girlfriend calls me the furnace since I run very, very hot.

    cooking

Not sure, but I do my lasagna with little hand rolled meatballs instead of a meat sauce. Being a middle of the road guy, the best lasagna sounds good enough.

The family business is pools funny enough. (I do it on the side for extra cash, my full time job is water adjacent) We actually got a new heater hence the replumb. (was pretty far down the list to get going) And yeah, truck said 101 backing into the driveway. And I'm about to suite up in a tyvek...

I had about 104 with a feel like of 111. How do I know that? Instead of swimming in the pool I was replumbing it so we could open it. In about 15 hours... I'll be floating tonight.

All the winter project boats ready to go for the 4th of July ?

I've been too busy to finish up the odds and ends on mine. I'm off until friday and hope to have it 90% complete by then though

    Replacing bow seat foam

Carving knife or the hacksaw blade. Works great. The thin stuff cuts fine with a good utility knife.

helm wiring, should be simple, i'm not too bright.

My whole facility ran modbus up until a year or two ago. There are consoles with electronics dating back to the 70s. We say a little prayer anytime someone works on one as there is both no documents on how they're wired and no one knows how to fix them if something goes wrong.
