    Required HP for slalom skiing

In the Days of 2 Strokes, you could get pulled out easy by a motor of less than 60hp, Today's Torqueless 4 Strokes require 150 - 200hp to pull the same Skier out with the same boat.

Tow eye hook height for slalom skiing

Higher Tow Hooks can and do create a Side to Side Rocking, simply because of the Physics involved, Lower Tow Points can reduce that. Of course a lower Tow Point can result in the Tow Line dragging in the Water at speed more often when Slack develops after crossing the Wake and the Skier is...

While your fingernail is fairly sharp, whatever is on the Hose, isn't. If there is some goop in there, it might also be in the fitting that you pulled the hose off of

Carb linkage adjustment for 1976 Mercury 500 50hp with thunderbolt ignition.

Don't go messing with the Linkage between the Carb and the Spark Timing, unless you do a Link and Sync, and find it out of adjustment. Just make sure both carbs are Closed(I think, both have a small Spring to ensure they are closed) at idle. If they are closed at Idle, and the Linkage between...

    1968-1972

Check to see of power is going to the Shift Wires under the Cowl when the Control is in Neutral or Reverse. If Power is, then you will be dropping the Gearcase for Inspection. If not, then the problem is in the Wiring to the Control, the switch in the Control. Power must be getting to the...

1986 mercury 115 2 stroke inline 6 bogging at full throttle

The Enricher gets its fuel from either a Carb Bowl, or from the Fuel Line going to the Carbs. If the Carbs are starved, the enricher will likely be starved too

I know the Stench of either remains on my hands for Days. I finally found that Clorox Bleach will remove the Stench. It will get Hot as it interacts with the Traces of Oil, but at least the Stench will vanish

Old Evinrude question, Can anyone help?

I couldn't find that Model # in any of my books, so I went went 55 25hp. As I knew the the Cutout was there on the 55 I know in 57 they had moved the Fuel Filter to the Port Side of the Block

Should the prop have any play

If the shaft is not moving in and out, there likely a Washer/Spacer missing. Especially critical is the Thrust Washer, without it, the Prop can end up machining the back of the Gear Housing, and that gets expensive in a hurry as it would have to be replaced

Easier time putting on the trailer

To the OP. Don't back in too deep, the Bunks themselves so a great job of centering the boat. Those Guide things are more of a joke than anything else. I have seen many bent because the trailer was way too deep, and the boat was moving around because of Wind and/or Current.
