    Prop Selection - Bayliner 175

You can add most properly sized, and "fully" powered (rated HP) boat, to that list as well Prop changes are used to compensate for a lack of horsepower at RPM. Unfortunately, a large percentage of boats sold are under-powered to met a price point, thus the perception that it's normal operation...

    Best shallow water river boat

Locally, the small mouth guys/guides on the Potomac and Susquehanna are running center console Jon boats with outboard jet drives These are a little extreme (I/O) but they are out there https://riverraptorjetboats.com/boat/xr-8-shallow-water-fishing-boat/

Alpha outdrive stud came off with nut. Never saw this before???

Our equipment is subject to extreme vibration. Nothing leaves the factory w/o some sort of thread locker. Have yet to run into a thread locker that will withstand heat and or an impact wrench.

Alpha outdrive stud came off with nut. Never saw this before???

LOCTITE® 263 is a red, high strength, primerless threadlocker for permanently locking and sealing bolts, nuts and studs to prevent loosening due to vibration. It works on all metals without primer, including passive substrates such as stainless steel, aluminum and plated surfaces. Suitable for...

    Tohatsu M18d charging output

What continuous output? Small outboards typically don’t charge at low rpm. Given the size of the motor, I’m guessing 6 to 10 Amps per hour at elevated rpm. Depth of discharge of a battery is very important to life expectancy. Discharge greater than 50% will shorten life considerably

Lexus Oil Leaks and Mechanic (Woes)

Bear in mind that most mechanics these days were in pre-school when that car was built. The odds of finding a “factory trained” tech to service a 2002 vehicle is next to nil. I’m fortunate that I have an “Performance Shop” specializing in “older” imports, Toyota, Honda and Datsun/Nissian...

Is that not the goal for personal finance as well....lol Companies live and die on cash flow, not profits

    Helix 7 g3n with a garmin/lowrance flow meter?

    Battery Switch Confusion

You could, but I would take the opportunity clean up the mess using the appropriate wire colors, ie ground wires should be black

    Battery Switch Confusion

Wrong end.......other end goes to switch. Wires (yellow and red) currently connected to the positive wire terminal go to the "accessories" terminal on the switch. The "grounds" (yellow/ white and black) stay with the ground cable

    Battery Switch

The purpose of the switch is two fold.....it allows you to charge both batteries with a common source, and it allow you to connect the motor and "accessories" circuit to either battery if necessary. If you want a particular circuit to draw off a particular Source, the battery needs to be...

    Battery Switch

They are only pulling off "both" batteries when the switch is set to both. Otherwise, the load is carried by battery 1 or battery 2 as noted on the switch

    Battery Switch

What is your goal in adding a second battery? If the goal is a guaranteed "Start", the starting battery should be stand-alone, with nothing but the engine powered from it

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

200 HP Ocean Pro Fuel flow, speed and chart plotter configured to report nautical miles. Average fuel burn at cruise (~4300 rpm, 27 kts.) under good to decent conditions = 1.9 MPG, or roughly 16.3 GPH Raising or lowering cruise by 1500 rpm typical results in a plus or minus 0.1 mpg change...

    Warning buzzer issues 1995 E90TLEO

If it's like the module used in mine, there is a relay inside to generate the "chirp" at power-up. Purple (12V) goes to + terminal. Tan (signal) goes to the other terminal. Black (Grd) to ground

Are we back online for good or?

The last two intrusions into our system were not hacks, per se. Both were malware intrusions introduced by employees clicking on attachments from unknown origins.

    Turbo tax

Have used most tax softwares over the years. Pretty much all the same. Typically went with the cheapest I could find at the time. Have been using Turbo tax up until last year since it Intergrates with our Quicken, home finance software. Last year, I was fired. Mrs. Dingbat decided it was...

Drive held pressure but still leaks out , water in

Have seen seals hold static pressure yet fail dynamically. Have seen more than one vacuum assembly pass a pressure, yet fail vacuum test. Thermal expansion…..running a 250 HP motor in a trash can for 45 minutes isn't doing you any favors.
